you won't like it with that ESC.. you won't be able to stop....
I would run a 20L, with the stock tranny... and 10S setup... it works great...

I figured I will get "creative" and figure out some way to hook up mechanical brakes. My idea was to have a brake disc with a 17mm hex, and bore out a metal 17mm hub, put that onto the end of the motor shaft, and then use the stock "pad and caliper" setup. I may do this with a 20 or 23mm hub also, depending on disc availability. As for a inrunner setup, where would I acquire a 20L Feigao? Where would I mount the batteries? I've realized that with Direct Drive, I cannot use that motor because the diameter, as it would make me completely remove the chassis braces. I have found this motor: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5204 which has a much smaller diameter, and would only require a small amount of milling to the chassis, and a bit of dremeling to the braces. Since the motor has 55 more kv, an 8s setup seems suitable. Any ideas or retort, Aqwut? I am still open to inrunner setups, but a shorter can motor with a very low kv would be hard to obtain, and it seems the batteries would have to be mounted on one side.

Hobbycity don't stock feigao any more - Feigao won't ship to them...

You could mount the batteries on both undersides of the maxx.. and on the right upperside as well... weight distribution is pretty good... that ESC should work because the 20L draws very little amperage... but it can pull more than 31 Amps... 31 maximum continuous...

As of now, I'm clueless. In the calculator, it says the Feigao will only draw 31a max. With 10s IIRC that's only ~1900 watts. ??? :neutral:

I also found the Mega 22/30/3E. the kv is very similar, and this pulls about 50a max. IIRC it has a kv of 1050, so maybe a 12s setup would work?

the 20L is a small motor and draws very little amperage... on 10S and 31Amps, that's about 1100+ watts of power... That t-maxx is a light setup when ur finished, so she'll boogy very well...

I can understand why you guy's use high voltage (to reduce the amps), but, what's wrong with teaming up a motor/ESC/battery combo to allow for amp flow & maintain consistent motor, ESC & batt temps instead of spending huge bucks on those giant heavy batteries?

My mate's Revo runs perfectly with a 7XL, MM with fan & the Maxxamps batt. The battery stays nice & cool, while the MM maintains a consistent 50C & the motor sits at 60-65C max.

I'm trying to understand why alot of you want to spend big on a batt, but, go for cheaper ESC's & low kv motors, it just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm just too much of a noob with BL systems, although, I have had my RC18 R for a while with a 9200kv powered by a 11.1v 3s 20C. It's stupid fast & have no heating issues.

if you use high voltage, you could get away with lower mah packs... the weight is about the same.. with the higher voltage and lower KV motors, it makes it a whole lot easier on the ESC.. that's mainly the reason why I run high voltage.... I'm not too worried about the motors, just the ESCs...

you can't compare them tiny 300 size motors to the 540XLs... :)

I think I figured it out. CC 45-HV, Mega 22/30/3E, and 14s A123, so I can keep it above the chassis.

OR: CC 45-HV, Feigao 20L, and 12s A123.
