Purple 17mm hex nuts?
Picked up a set of Vantage Racing HX5 mounted tires, and they run a 17mm hex. I'm going for a purple theme on my Revo, and I'm looking for a quality set of purple hex adaptors/nuts. I've seen a couple photos of Revos with purple hexes, but I have no idea what brand they were.
Any ideas? |
Maybe Integy?

Everything HPI makes is purple, might find something for Savage or Hellfire that will fit.

Cool. So the axle sizes for the Savage/Hellfire are the same as the Revo? I wasn't sure about this, so I was waiting for someone to mention HPI.

The Hellfire uses a standard 1/8 scale axle, which is essentially a tube with 8mm OD and something like 5mm ID. The hex hub is secured to this axle tube using a 2-2.5mm pin through both the hex hub and the axle. A 5mm set screw secures that pin.
Standard Savage and Revo axles are only similar in terms of how they mount the tire on. The Savage axle is 8mm OD until the threads, and the threads are M5 (5mm). The Revo axle is 6mm OD, and again M5 threads. With the Savage and HPI's Savage CVDs, you can take Hellfire axles and simply mount them to the CVDs (that's why my Savage has right now). But with the Revo, getting a hex hub isn't simple. I think RD Logics makes a knuckle set that upgrades the axles to an 8mm OD. And the Hellfire wheel nuts are actually black. |
Alright. Thanks, MetalMan. I guess I'll just get some plain Jane silver hexes, or just keep the ones that supposedly come with the wheels I bought.
