New BL Emaxx vid and problems
ok so i have been working on this emaxx project of mine and i have finnally gotten some runtime. but i also had some issues as well.
the truck runs hot, very hot. i don't have a temp gun but it shut its self down a couple of times during the run, after about 15min or so. both esc and motor are untouchable, batts are just a few degrees over ambient. i am running the new emaxx stock with a mm with bec and novaK cap, a fiego 8xl with full heat sink, and 2x 7 cell intellect 4200 batts. gearing is 22/68. whats the deal, i researched it and the setup was what several people recomended. does something sound wrong other than its a cheap setup. i ordered 16 and 18 tooth pinions but im still waiting on them. i have a extra mm sitting here, could I setup a good dual system or should i sell the two mambas and and buy a nicer esc? i don't need a stupid fast setup just something reliable and with decent runtime. i don't wish to go lipo either, at least right now. i have 2 sets of 7cell batts here that i would like to stick with. |
hi
check if the tranny is really running free. buy a temp gun and try this 16T pinion first to see if this makes a huge difference. then you may check with the 18T. a little fan on the esc wont be wrong either. bye rhylsadar |
how's ur meshing?...sometimes the pinion rubs on the tranny cover..
|
Check for binding in the drive train, Pinion/spur mesh, tranny, diffs etc. Everything should move freely and there should be the thickness of a sheet of paper between the pinion and the spur.

into the reading, i was going to suggest lipo but you fixed that. anyway, my thoughts are maybe you're dropping voltage and causing amp spikes even though your batts are staying cool.
