New Project!

I have been working on a second FLM savage for a while now and i think i have figured out what all is going in it. The MMM ESC with a Neu 1521 1.5D 1900kv running off of 6s but if the MMM is like its little brother i will run 7-8s. I am shooting for 47/16 gearing and with that gearing on 6s i can hit just under 60mph and on 8s it will hit 78mph.:surprised::yipi: The calculations were used using the parameter solver. With my short gearing i should have no problems with heat and what not. I also have the extended FLM arms and 40 series going on it. I have the chassis just about complete. Waiting on a FLM shock tower and Integy HD Steering Hubs And Integy HD bumper supports. This truck is completely FLM Option including the bulks and Integy HD. (the HD is not bad realy, way better than there old alloy) I will post pics of the setup so far tonight. Cant wait till this bad boy is done. Just really expensive so taking a few weeks.:mdr: Let know what you all think. :yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi:

If you do push the MMM, Good luck and disconnect the bec, its only good for 6s

I know, that is also after someone else is the guinea pig to test it at 8s or 7s. I wont chance frying it right of the bat. This truck is costing enough as it is. Im sure i can live with 60mph to start of with. I just hope the gearing cooperates with the rest.

That is going to be a lot of rpm for that little motor on 8s or even 7s.

It is rated at 60,000 RPM and even on 8s it is only running around 57,000 RPM so it still will be under the specs.:mdr:
(1900kv, 8s = 30v, 1900 * 30 = 57,000)

Neu is the first i have seen to rate up to 60,000 RPM though all others i have seen only go to 40,000 RPM

Okay here are the pics. This is all i have done so far. Cost too much money to do all at once.
Click them to make them bigger!

That is a lot of bling. Are you really going to be brave enough to drive that? For show I'd use the Alloy bumpers and skids but for driving stick the plastic bumpers, skids and body posts on. Looking good though. Can't wait to see some video of some high speed passes.

K got a few more parts in the mail today. Got the tranny in with reverse too, all servos, wheely bar, the other shock tower, and a few little things. Here are some more pics.

Still need shocks, wheel hubs (tires are just set there for appearance), bumper supports, the Neu motor, 6s, MMM.
Slowly but surely.

Well i am not going to be going crazy with jumps and stuff so i think it should be all right. It may be pretty but it is nice solid aluminum, will take quite a hit to bend it all up. Integy's new parts that say HD are really beefed up and worth the money. I have had the old stuff and it was junk, but this new stuff i would recommend.

How strong are the new HD stuffs from integy? I never hear good things about integy. The old ones are junk. Do you said that they are strong just based on the parts or you have tried them? I need to get some stuffs from them too if they are strong like you said.

I ran my 1521/1Y with 10S lipos. It was a fantastic 9 or so minutes. The motor makes a ton of power and you will need to beef up your drive train.

Yea the truck looks very nice:yes:. It feels good once you get these things all put together:yipi:. The metal builds are expensive but well worth the investment if you do it right:rules:. For me the build is most of the fun. As far as the Integy stuff is concerned you have to learn on your own how well made things are:whistle:. Once you actually use some of their stuff you will soon find out that there are much better parts out there for use in that truck HD or not:tongue:. Integy looks very pretty and can deffinitely give you the bling effect that you are hoping for, but you may be disapointed in the performance:gasp:. The good thing about using FLM gear for your build is that there are still spares available on line so if you bash and damage anything no big deal:intello:. Not like the UE gear that alot of us use.:eyes: Good build young man, and have lots of fun playing with that custom rig. Take it easy with the electronics though and work your way up from the bottom. Don't get too cocky and rush yourself into a great deal of money loss in your haste:diablo:. Patients is the key to a successful project.

I have had experience with Integys old stuff and like you all said it is good for bling. I seen the new HD stuff and ordered one skid plate just to see the difference. I got the skid plate and instantly noticed it was better. It is more solid and heavy like the FLM stuff. Now i doubt it is as strong as the FLM but it is stronger than the old Integy. You pick up a HD part and it feels solid and i tried bending the skid with my hands and well it was very very stiff. I did that with an old Integy skid and it bent in half like butter. Now if you are going to super bash then i don't think even FLM will hold up, it is still Aluminum. Oh the body post are the normal cheap post that will bend easy. I only got the HD Integy because none else makes the skids and stuff. Have yet to find a center gearbox. Once this beast is running i will report feedback of how everything runs. Should have this done by the time the MMM comes out. Perfect timing!:mdr::mdr: As far as everyone ripping up drive train - well i think that is a major fact of not shimming correctly. I have ran the monster CEN motors in my savage when it was nitro and never had an once of trouble.:great: That is why i am going BL.:yipi::yipi::yipi: Thank you for your comments.:mdr::smile:

Bashing?

No one is bashing anything here. That is not the way we debate the issues here. I believe that my words were fairly diplomatic for the most part. You came here to ask what we thought about your choices on this project, correct? If you do not want an honest reply, then why did you post the questions? Your truck looks great. That was a compliment Sir.

I have both the old, and the new HD Integy products in my collection as well. They have a great colorful look to them for sure, but if you match them up against many of the alternatives out there, they will not hold up against the majority of what is used competitively. As I suggested earlier, once you use the HD stuff you have and actually compare itwith real world testing you may be disapointed. There is no need for you to be offended by this. With so many options for strength and integrity most of the true enthusiasts prefer parts that hold up much better, especially if their vehicle purpose is for competitive use, or more serious backyard bashing. Sorry if that does not meet with your approval, but the facts speak for themselves. The bottom line as I stated earlier is that how you spend your money is totally up to you Sir. You came here looking for answers. No need to get angry if you donnot like the responses. Have a great day.

I think there may be a misunderstanding here. I was not mad at all. I was merely trying to point out the HD is better than the old stuff, that is all. I realize that it is not as good as the alternative, I do not know of anyone else that makes skids for the savage that are strong. I love the FLM stuff and it is superior to Integy. If FLM made skids and what not i would definitely go with them. Do you know who makes great skids??? I also realize that you have experienced the new HD now. I did not know you had any. I thank you for your heads up on the fact that i may be disappointed, it would not be the first with integy. Just wanted to clear things up, i was not mad, words can not express emotion very well. I am sorry if the wording may have made it seemed like i was bashing comments made.
