my personal opinion of the flextek emaxx arms.
now before you go thinking anything let me lay some pics on you:
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...fman/020-4.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...fman/022-4.jpg that is the truck running the flextek arms. has alot of hopups and getting ready for more. somehopups are more noticable than others. anyways the truck is getting ready for a massive overhaul and i feel it is time to talk about the arms. i love the look of them and dont regret the purchase. they have held up very nicely to some severe bashing. to put things into perspective out of 35 traxxas vehicles only aorund 10-15 are bashers. and all but my spirit and street sport are down with damage. some more severe than others. the emaxx is getitng ready for alot of work with some new parts rolling in and also needing a massive overhaul since almsot all the screws are rusted. anywyas i had heard people saying that the bottom of the shock doesnt stay on the arm without loctite. i cant verify this for a fact since i hit mine with loctite. i have no issues at all with them coming loose. the arms themselves are helping keep the truck performing how i want. which is more like a real mosnter truck than anything else. with almsot nothign to get airborne off of the truck gets some sick air and usually flies nose up. this is what i wanted and i am veryy happy. all told the arms are holding up nicely even with a severely stiff suspension setup like what i got. |

Is this a statement about Traxxas??? Doesnt sound good. But glad to hear you like the Flextek arms. I always liked the way they looked, just wasnt willing to drop the cash on them. |
the vehicles all went down hard. none went down from wimpy runs. when i bash i bash HARD

Dito, I like the way they look and the materials used, but question the reliability of their design. I’ve bent a few titanium parts before so the metal’s not destructible and the design of the arm seems to me it would bend. Just my speculation though as I’ve never used this product.

I personally can vouch for 'em. Last weekend, I swore I broke 'em two or three times, and the truck just rolled away. Awesome stuff.

are any of you using anything besides the traxxas stock plastic sliders or UE ext cvds ? I use losi 8ight shocks and they rub a bit on the sliders. Id really like a set of cvds that are long enough and I could use 17mm hub adaptors on.... ?

the only thing i hate about them is their bushings; they are made from the wrong material; the problem is they get sloppy after time. and the bushings tend to break after some time too.
