Tire Glue???
 

Does anyone know of any really good tire glue I can use? I used some super glue on my new badlands and it came right off. I even used the strongest epoxy the army holds on my last tires and it to didnt work. Does any one know of anything??

Any good Tire glue (Not Super Glue) will do. Make sure you scuff the wheels and tires with sand paper and clean them real good before you get started. I use medium CA, but that's just me :lol:.

Yes, cleaning them is a MUST! All the tires I've ever glued had a brownish film to them. Make sure the tire bead AND rim are clean.

I like to use fairly thin CA because it will wick around the tire for a better seal. If the glue is too thick, you get "clumpy" spots.

No matter what you use, they will eventually come apart if you spin them so fast that they look like pizza cutters. :wink:

All this makes me wish you could just get tires like regular tubeless inflated car tires, except fiber belts instead of steel. I know it may make the cars bouncier, but I don't care.

As the others have said, it all has to be clean! I have also given up trying to do a neat job. I use the black tire glue and a lot of it for truck tires, thin ca for 1/8 buggy tires.

Belted tires are sweet, got some on my touring car and a set for my 1/8th buggy for speed runs.

That one might be coming. My uncle owns a company in Brasil that makes tire protector for the trucking industry. I told him what I was thinking about doing and he said they can do it. He said they have injection molding machines and they can have molds made for the wheels and tires at a very good price. I will talk to him soon and I will send him some wheels and tires just to give him the idea of the sizes, shapes and designs.

I use denat alcohol to clean the tire bead with and rid them of the mould release stuff they come coated with. Motor spray or contact cleaner works well also. I wipe each bead down twice. If the wheel is chrome where the tire is going to be glued, I use my dremel and scuff the chrome up good - CA has hard time sticking to the chrome finish they put on wheels. For non-chrome, I use a piece of 220grit paper and dull the finish where the bead will glue down.

I use the med losi tire glue and have never had a tire come loose.
