Can't find where to buy pin...
 

It seems that I broke one of the silver pins that holds the forward only gear on the output shaft. However, I have only found it here:

So I can only get it in a package. Can someone help me find where I can buy just the silver pins? $11 is a little steep for a small metal pin...

I was hoping he'd see this thread. :smile: I just need the get the Revo running again by Saturday... got a big bash with a bunch of buddies, so it should be a lot of fun. :yes: Hopefully pictures and possible video(s) will be taken as well.

Edit: I don't really need a link to where I can buy it, but more importantly the part number. I will probably just buy it at my LHS on friday to have time to install it. I also couldn't find the part number on the the Traxxas website, because they have all the stock gears, and I have FOC installed.

Some will find an allen key that's just a bit too large to fit, and file a bit of the edges off so It can be pressed into the hole. Holds up better than the stock type pin, so I'm told.

Drill the gear and shaft and use one of the silver pins from the universals. The one with the tiny e clips...

Don't know where to buy just the pins either, I happened to have a few extra to experiment with. It's kinda expensive, but you can get this ($6 for 1 pin) or this ($12.50 for two possibly harder pins), or come up with something else to use as the pin.

If you do end up using the same pins, I would try this out.

Thanks for the help guys. Maybe I can work out a deal with the guys at the LHS to sell me just the pin alone. But atleast I know what parts numbers to refer to, so they know what pin I am talking about.

Use a cut allen key or drill bit. You'll break the stock one again. It's common a common breakage point.

If using a drill/allen key, you just have to find a way to capture the ends so it doesn't wiggle its way out. But a dab of some type of glue (JBWeld/Shoe Goo, Hot Glue/etc) on each side should do the trick. Just gotta remember that these shafts spin quite fast and the centrifugal force is substantial so whatever you use may be subjected to some serious forces...
