rustler 30 series rims
hello has anyone ever had any experience with this tire/rim combo? i am thinking about getting the badlands for my rustler but am not too sure about rims. i would like them to be black but i have yet to see any. how hard would it be to strip the chrome off and dye them black?
thank you for any help:smile: |
Shouldn't be too hard to get them black. Also, because Pro-Line doesn't make the proper offsets for the 30 series on the electrics, you'll need to widen the front suspension to accommodate for proper width up front. Here's mine with Badlands 30 series:

that looks very nice.
what body is that? and can i ask how you widened the front end? |
The body is the JConcepts VXL Rustler body. The front end was widened using FLM A-Arm kit FLM24800. Use the existing toe links for new camber links and a set of the VXL Stampede toe links as the new toe links for this.

i think i will have to buy that body. did you have to do anything to the chassis to make it fit?
also, did you buy 4 rear rims? |
The body is a direct fit for the electric rustler. The wheels are all nitro rears, which have the same offset as electric fronts, giving you a slightly increased track width once complete.

if you leave the chrome intact and dye them black, you'll get the cool black chrome look, I don't know of anyway to remove the chrome, and think the black chrome looks effin cool
|
I believe you can remove the chrome by soaking the rims in easy off oven cleaner-- the same method used to de-anodize metal.
