Ubec ?

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before if so im sorry for asking it again. If i use a ubec do i have to cut the plug off the speedo, or does it plug into the ubec ?. I would rather not cut the plug off the speedo. Thank's

it need to be fed from the batteries, so you need to solder them to the plugs of the speedo..

Could i just use a y harness. What i mean is plug the speedo into one socket, & sodier the ubec to the other plug. Then plug it in to the reciver. Or do you mean it has to be sodierd to the battery wires ?.

Dafni 09.12.2005 01:52 AM

Yep, Serum meant the input of the UBEC have s to be soldered to the batteries. The output of the ubec is plug'd in the receiver.

Don't forget to disable the internal BEC!!! (either cut the red wire or remove the black jumper!)

Soldering to the battery wires is cool. I thought he meant to the reciver wire. Could i just un plug the red wire from the speedo ?. I would rather not cut any speedo wires if i absolutly dont have to. What do you mean black jumper ?. Do you mean black wire in the reciver plug

Dafni 09.12.2005 02:06 AM

You're right, no need for cutting. I always pull the red wire out of the plug (and shrink the gold connector, just to make sure)

You know about the red programming jumper, right?! There's another one, a black one, just a bit deeper under the shrink. Removing this jumper has the same effect as pulling the red wire.

rchippie 09.12.2005 02:10 AM

So if i just pull the red wire and shrink the plug will that do the trick ?.

Dafni 09.12.2005 02:26 AM

Yes, that's what I do.

Cool thank's buddy

anybody got a diagram of how to wire one up? i dont really understand. do you have to solder it to the battery itself or to the battery plugs on the esc?

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 07:04 PM

Take red wire hook it to the red wire to esc. Black wire to black wire of esc. Plug into the bec spot on reciever. This should help squee.

squeeforever 09.12.2005 07:16 PM

thanks, thats alot more simple. so if you have a y coming out for 2 batteries just the main black coming out and the main red coming out of the esc right?

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 07:29 PM

yep you got it squee. That away it gets same juice as esc.

RC-Monster Mike 09.12.2005 07:36 PM

I wouldn't bother with the red wire, hippie. Just remove the black BEC jumper and you will be all set.
