So anyone find my review of the Caslte Sidewinder refreshing in RC Car?
I definitely took some heat on that one. Seems the other magazine just plugged it in an yammered on and one about how great it was. I on the other hand attempted to give a less biased view. ..... Just ranting. OK flame away..... |
Is there an online version? I'd be interested to read it, I cant find a fault with either of mine...I wanna know what your coppin' flak over :)

If you found cogging you did - no point lying - what did CC say and did the update fix it?
Just do a short editorial follow up if it was fixed by firmware... |
The disadvantage is we have to review as is and not speculate. The update did smooth it out quite a bit, however it still isn't as smooth as the MM and nowhere near as powerful, but it is does make brushless affordable.

umm, down the bottom of the article at the top its labelled "Mamba Max ESC Specs" whats up with that
overall, i think its a great short review. if i were reading it, and was looking for a cheaper alternative, id buy one.. dont know why u copped any heat. id be more worried with an inaccurate writeup which then lead me to buy an inferior product, which its NOT!! that firmware update new released should/will increase its value if cogging is reduced to the MM/MMM level! well done... ryan |
I reckon its a pretty top review, I'd definitely buy one based on this.
Although I think its a little weird you keep bringing up the cogging, and said you were disappointed, but at the same time mention they were truly unrealistic gear ratios... like... whatd you expect from castle's absolute bottom of the range esc? I guess, as you said, it comes down to ones expectations. Personally, I didn't expect it to perform on par with my MM, and instead it has performed just as well as the MM in any situation I care to use them. Still, it did seem like a favorable review, with the only con being that its not as good as the MM... I coulda told you that without testing either of em ;) :P |
Thanks for the support.
