9xl on 4s lipo
Ive been reading a lot and i think ive narrowed my choices down, im thinking a 9xl with a TrueRc 4s2p 8000 mah pack....would the 9xl be a good choice? Its only for general bashing, no racing, how will the 9xl on 4s compare to the stock K4.6?
Also, im thinking of running the mm with a ubec, would it be worth going to the mmm or will the mm handle bashing ok on 4s What gearing would anyone recommend (im using the FLM forward tranny kit) By the way, this forum is great. :yipi: |
I say get the MMM. It can handle up to 6s lipo and I think 16 NihM Cells.
The MM can handle 3s Lipo and 12 Cells. |
The MM is a solid 4s controller, just disable the BEC and use an external one. Although, the MMM would be a wise choice in the event you want to go up on the voltage in the future, or decide the MM is heating up too much.

that sounds good, i think im going to go for the mmm just to be safe, id rather not risk it
how much run time should i expect with the 8000 lipo Edit: and what would be good gearing |

would a 49 spur be a good start with a 20 tooth pinion, im going to be just bashing so less heat and lower top end is perfect for me (also would putting a fan on the motor heatsink help at all?)
just to clarify, a higher tooth pinion is less bottom end, more top end and a higher tooth spur is the opposite? |

Larger pinion means more top end, smaller spur also means more top end / higher gearing. Personally I wounldnt bother putting a fan on a motor. |
Hey guys, have you ever tried the K4.6, with good fuel like Byron Gen2 race formula, and a TSAIS T-32 tune pipe?????:gasp:
I can telll you that's a screemer, and i'am realy impressed of this little engine. I like brushless, but my Savage with the K4.6 impressed me each time i run it. And you know what?? I've an RB Concept TM 928 with FLM extend low CG TVP on order, suppose to recieve it next wednesday. |

Even these cheap brushless motors have twice the acceleration and can be geared for higher top speeds because of the extreme torque the have. The only thing nitro has over BL in my opinion is smooth power band without having to worry about wheelies. |
And don't have to wait for batt to charge, just fill up the tank and play:wink:
For bashing i prefered nitro, but for racing i realy love brushless. |
