Chassis Stripping

How exactly do i take the finish/anodizing or whatever it is off of my Revo 3.3 chassis or any other aluminum part?:intello:

Easy Off works. Do it outside (fumes bad), spray on liberally, wait ~10 minutes, and rinse off. If all the color is not gone, repeat. Once done, the finish will be kinda blotchy. Simply use some steel wool and clean it up. That's it.

FYI: Some people say Easy off doesn't work depending on the part. It worked for me with the Traxxas Revo chassis and parts.

I've always used EZ-off oven cleaner. Works like a charm. Some lately have used a commercial cleaner/degreaser that I beieve is called Purple Lightning.

Make sure to get the yellow can Easy off brand with lye. The blue can doesn't contain lye and won't work. I've tried other brands and they don't work.

You can use steel wool or fine sandpaper for a brushed aluminum look or metal polish for a shiny finish.
