Gearing question again ...

Hello,

because I am little bit disorientated in the moment by hearing different opinions please help me once again:

As the most of you know I have the HV-Maxx-System and I run the truck with the stock Revo tires/rims.

The gearing setup I use (70/12) is just like in the HV-Maxx-Gearing update:

http://www.teamnovak.com/products/in...v_gear_add.htm

Some other guys told me now I have to change up to 76/anything.

I do not understand why ?

Is it not better to run the motor cooler by gearing down (70/11 or 70/10) ?

Any other advise or explanation from the experts here ?

Thank you in forward and with greetings from Germany

On some motor mounts. You can bottom the motor out in mount and not have enough movement. As far as gearing goes. 70 spur with 11 pinion is a 6.36 to 1 ratio. If you run the 76 spur with 12 tooth pinion is a 6.33 to 1 ratio. If your motor mount can let the motor move stay with the 70 tooth. It is very little difference in ratios.

I have just tested the combination 70/11 (6,36:1) - it is nearly the same as 76/12 (6,33:1) - with a few of my 7 cell packs and compared it with the stock combination 70/12 (5,83:1) and the an with a few other 7 cell packs - the temperature on the motor and on the heat sink are around 6-8 degress celcius lower :D :D :D than the stock combiantion !!!

Also the runtime seems to be a bit longer - estimated maybe 4-6 minutes more than before (stock: 10-12 minutes - new: 16-18 minutes).

I will observe this the next days but if this continue to be as I measured it - thats really cool !!!

If you getting good results. Would you try a 76spur with a 11 pinion. Just to see. You are the driver. If it makes you happy and motor happy it is good. Keep us posted on exiperence.
How do you like lipos?

I have ordered a 76spur and hope to receive it soon - I will try that as soon as possible and post my experience.

A few days ago I have tried my first Lipo-Pack - I am fascinated about the difference of weight - 2 packs togehter only 320 gramm compared to 2 packs of 7 cells (930 gramm) - full throttle will push my "little baby" to the "orbit"
:D :D :D

You can see that under www.never2mu.ch - than "Freestuff" and than "Video ..."
