what do i have to adjust to fix this problem?
ok this is frustrating me, im in and out of my house keep trying to adjust my toe in on my front two 2 wheels and still cant get it down. my problem is this,
when i go about 10mph, its goes completely straight, but as i speed up to about 20 to 30mph, itll just hook to the left or right...not a very sharp hook but itll just start leaning one way and then if i turned the opposite direction, itll go that way too much and ill lose control. i know about the steering mod , but the thing is, this was not a problem until i got new rims and tires. so i know its fixable but i just dont know what to adjust. one major thing is when i go reverse like going 2mph. it wont go straight...it will always reverse towards the right. can anyone please help me |
Make sure all of the steering linkages are set to the same length, and *important* attached in the same holes on the left and right sides.
Also check to make sure all of the suspension adjustments are the same on both sides, this also goes for the rear. Shock preload, and where you mount the shocks top and bottom should be the same. After all that, you may have a befective, or weak servo. Or possibly, one wheel/tire is way out of balance. What vehicle is this? Pics? |
oops forget to mention its a 3905 emaxx. and i checked all the things you mentions linc.
everything is same except the linkages are a lil off on the front .but my wheels are both straight...one is not more toe in or toe out than the other, so i think its the same length. |
make sure a bolt isnt to tight on the some part of the steering as that will cause lots of drag causing the steering to kind-of stick to one side.
happens on my rustler all the time. |
ok after adjusting the links again. its pretty straight now. gosh i had to bring that wrench out there with me and do very minimal adjustments to make it go straight.
but the thing with the reverse going to the right is still a problem. i noticed the rod end on one rear tire is loose. what i mean by loose is hollow ball that goes in the rod end, its has alot of play. so much where i even see a gap/opening between the rodend and hollow ball. so im guessing this might be the problem with my reverse. when i grab my tire and wiggle it, it has alot of play where as the other rear tire barely moves. DOES ANYONE HAVE TWO SPARE ONES THEY WANNA SELL ME, ALL I NEED IS THE ROD ENDS. BUT IF YOU HAVE THE HOLLOW BALLS THATLL BE GREAT TOO. PM ME WITH PRICE. heres the link if you dont know what im talking about. http://www.buytraxxas.com/product_in...oducts_id=2175 http://www.buytraxxas.com/product_in...oducts_id=2172 |
another thing i messed with to fix the problem was ...you know the driveshafts? the part that holds the yolk..the squarish thing. well that part had some play so i just took a wrench and squeezed on the part of the driveshaft where it holds the square thingy. now its prettty tite again, and now no more wheel wobble.
