More excessive purchases
So I decided that ineeded a M11 radio, just had to have one. So I searched around and could not find much that was a good deal. So I started to look for a m8. Figured that I could do with out the 30 model memory that the m11 has, I still have my 2pl and 3pm futaba radios.
Now all of this started when I found a killer deal on 3 novak synth receivers, and the guy threw in the novak switch synth module for the m8/m11. So I figured that since I have the module, that I could pick up a radio to go with it. So, after a bunch of pms over on rectech, I found a smoking deal on a special edition m8, the backlit screen model. Great shape, comes with a bag and some extra crystals, and another receiver. So I sealed the deal with the guy, only to find 5 minitues later that I had another PM from a guy who is selling a m11 with a lipo and the novak switch and a pair of receivers for a super price. So I sealed the deal for that too. So now I have a bunch of synth receivers, a m8 and a m11, and a pair of novak switches. And this all started with a great deal on some receivers.... Figured that you guys would see the humor in this... Time for another motor sale to pay for all of this. |
How much did you end up dropping on both those radios?

I am thinking of getting the upgrade rc skins for both radios. I found that tower carries a corbon look skin for the m8, and a few choices for the m11. I am liking the look of the blue flame skin for the m11. |
Def. get the carbon skin! I think the gray flame skin looks cool too.

EDIT: Found one of his threads... http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...ighlight=skins |
In lieu of you, James, I stumbled upon a DX3 with 3 RXs for $140. I think I will pick it up.
|
DX3 or DX3.0?
|
Well
Well there you go linc. Now you have an excuse to pick up like 30 new R/C vehicles to fill up your radio space. We see where you are going with this pimp HA :rofl:HA :rofl:HA:rofl: Yea we are seeing the humor in that. We will expect to see your new thread soon on the comparison between the M-8 & the M-11 radios once you set them up and have time to do a little testing. Just what you needed linc, more work to do. have you had a chance to clean up your shop yet? Pics???

Cool Stuff.
That looks very nice Revo. Great job on the skins. I have been thinking about some for my sensor, but have not found any for it that look any good. Any ideas/links?

Well, I did get rid of my jr radio, so I am down 10 memory slots. But the m8/m11 combo give me 40 more, and I have at least 8-10 more receivers coming too. I think that my Futaba 2pl will stay with the 10th scale electric stuff, as i only need 2 channel for thtem. It has 10 model memory so that should cover what I have (mainly tamiya). My 3pm may be sold, just depends. Both of my futabas are modded for Sike's cell lipo packs, so I think that I will keep them. I will use the M8/m11 on all of the nitro conversions, as i need 3 channel radios to mix the mech brakes in some of them. I did clean up the room a bit, and snapped some pics. You can check out my photobucket album, just search lincpimp. I will post some pics of the radios and my thought on them when i get them! Quote:
Skello, thanks for the link to the skins on rctech. I will have a look at the m8 skins, the m11 did not do anything for me though! I did look at the Ice charger skins, and got some info from that thread on doing a backlight for the dispaly. I have 2 ice chargers, so I would like to do them both. makes it much easier to see! |
