Another question...volts and esc

I went from a 3S with 3500kv to a 4S 2200 and love the longer run times and cooler temps. So my more is better idea is coming out here..what if I go to a 1600kv and 6S on a mod MM? Does volts kill an esc or amps? The motor is rated a decent amount less amps(17) so will this combo work? Also my MM didn't even break 100 with cool night air and a 40mm fan on 4S. Thanks again guys.

perhaps 5s, not 6s... unless its a griffin modded double decker, which is like $400 or so i think, so going with a mamba monster would probably a better solution, although the mamba max you could get if faster (maybe) and it would be free of flaws etc...
(managed to get the monster for about 140 shipped internationally, so for that price any other esc seems very expensive!!!)

My MM is only mod 1 so i guess 5 is max then. So volts can kill an esc not just amps?

I run both my MM's at 6s, one with a 1515 3d Neu and the other with a 1300 Medusa (both 50mm and 60mm versions) and also a 1500 Mega Motor. I haven't had any problems, but I am right at the components maximum voltage level and I don't run any cutoff. All the components on the MM are 26v and the caps are 25v so it really isn't recommended, 5s shouldn't have any problems at all though because you leave yourself some headroom.

keep in mind, some just wont arm... really good idea to get a few small lipos (if you have any) and hook them up to create the desired voltage and see if it arms, or cooks....

if it works, then add a fan and try it out off the ground. check temps then run it slowly around and just be generally cautious... 5s would be my max imo... but hey, its your controller!

Yes artur checked the whole arming thing all the way up to 6S so I think I'm good there. Thanks for the advice guys.

Volts OR amps can kill an ESC. The FETs have a max rating for both values.

Just got off the phone with mega. I blew a 22/30/1 3500 alittle bit ago so I was checking to see if they had it fixed yet. He said I could exchange it with a motor that is the same as my old one but with 1770kv for 70bucks so I took. Since you guys think 6S is too much for my MM I'll just stick with 5S. Dang I'm addicted to this stuff. Thanks again guys.

Sounds like a good decision. If you were happy with the 4s you will be 20% better with 5S. The right setup should run plenty cool and with lots of power and run time. Just be carefull as your battery pack will also be 20% heavier.
By the way what type of vehicle is this in?

I don't want to even answer your question....rustler I know I know not worth it but it's fun to me. The bat I'm using now is 4S1P and I'm going to a 5S so I'm hoping it will weigh the same...haven't ordered it yet. I don't think I'm going to miss the 1000mah but I might we'll see.
