Keeping the rubber on the rims

Just thought a quick update and a question would be in order.

Update. I finished my first Nitro to brushless convertion. It's a HPI MT2 racer converted to

Mamba Max 5700 combo with 3s A123 batteries.

I was quite disappointed at performance at first. But after a little investigation I found my first Bad A123 cell. So I changed packs and then I was just a little disappointed. Tightened the slipper a little and now I am just OK with what I am getting for performance. Although I might be happier if I could run for more hten 30 seconds at a time.

And that is to my question.
I have HPI Chrome rims and Road rage tires. I can not keep the tires on the rims. Something tells me a little tire glue will help but not solve my issue.
Can anybody comment on if tire glue will hold on this type of a setup. Is there a better solution then that. I really want to have 2 sets of tires. 1 Street and 1 off road.

I think I am getting about 40 MPH out of the car now. That is just a eyeball guess. I figure that I am pulling some real power through the batteries cause the A123 cells are getting warm. Infact they are warmer in this setup then in my E-maxx (E-maxx runs 6s not 3s).

you definetely need to glue the tires onto the rims. use ca tire glue.

I don't need beadlocks? Wow I thought the CA would not hold on a brusless setup

nah beadlocks are not neccessary. ca glue will do just fine.

Only luck I've had getting tires to stay on chrome finished rims is to remove the chrome where the bead is glued. I use the edge of a file wrapped with 200-220grit sandpaper and get it all off. Wipe bead of tire and where it will sit on rim with denat alcohol to remove anything that will interfere or compromise the CA. Ended my probs doing it this way.

Yes and clean the tire itself where it will be glued with some sort of decent solvent cleaner. The molding process for the tires uses silicone release agent so they can get the tires out of the mold and it leaves a residue on the tires that glue doesnt stick to well. so meake sure you clean the guleing surface of the tires well.
