boring gearing question
 

hi iv got emaxx with a 7xl motor and a 22t pinyon with stock spur gear should i change the stock gear if so what to also what is the max temp the motor can safely goto.

What is the rest of your combo, esc, batts?

Generally you want to keep the temp of the motor under 180f.

i have the new emaxx 16.8 i have got a un named ebay esc but it works fine it is a 100 amp esc my bats are going to be 5000mah 25c.

as you can iv have keeping the budgit low

7xl is a good 4s motor, I would gear it with the 22t pinion you have and see how the temps are. I am sure it will be fine.

About the temperatures, there is a sticky in the FAQ or brushless section about the temps, this could give you an idea.

I used the 7XL on 5S, it's a hot motor! runs well on 3S as well (for relative slow speed bashing)
