Will the New E Revo Chassis work with the original front/rear parts?
 

Like the Title Says: I'm wondering if I can upgrade my Revo with the New Chassis?

My current E Revo has alot of great parts in it already. But nothing as fine as that new chassis.

Yes you can.. you will need to buy a few other parts though, mostly the steering parts as they don't match up the revo's. Keep in mind you will need the tranny and all other drive train parts as well :) I would guess it would be cheaper to buy the erevo and swap out any parts and sell your current to get a few $$$'s back.

I'm thinking for the most part, the new E Revo is a cross between the Nitro Revo and the New E maxx. That sure looks like the New E maxx transmission to me.

I have the RCM 1/8th Hybrid diffs in my own E Revo. They are staying with me. LOL

I have most all the parts already, transmission, drive shafts, etc.

How are the steering arms different?

Bellcranks etc are the same not sure about the steering arm(s) they look different too (no expoloded views yet, but check buytraxxas for part #'s) Other than that just the turnbuckle length really as far as the steering goes that would be different (no biggy). The tranny is the emaxx tranny with a different motor mount.

why would you want to do this?.......battery trays (boxes) suck ...imo

tranny cases and gearing is different in revo compared to emaxx. Gearing is slightly higher. E-MAXX tranny may fit but I know they look to be a bit different. Front and rear bullheads are the same as the nitro version. Battery boxes aren't bad if you don't plan on getting carried away, 2s2p 6000mah maxamp packs fit with plenty of room for circulation. This truck is great, I can't beleive it took Traxxas this long to make one!

This is more fact than just opinion.

A better question would be if the the 3.3 chassis will work with the new ERevo front and rear assemblies.

The front and rear assemblies are the same, except a frw steering parts, why would you want to switch them out?

I meant it with a dollup of sarcasm. But really, I'll be having to take the dremel to the Erevo chassis tonight to get my MaxAmps 2s2p 8k's to fit. The battery boxes severely limit the type, size and manufacture of lipos that you can choose from.

If I could get a cheap 3.3 chassis plate and some of simple battery trays that would take, say a 3s 8000 or 4s 6000, I'd buy it.

I bought a 1515 1Y Tekno Neu to run 5s and maybe even 6s and that just can't be done with the Erevo stock chassis.

2s2p 8ah maxamps are supposed to fit.... I'm running 6ah packs with tons of room. Why don't the 8ah packs fit, is it the length, depth, or height that won't allow them?

It's the wire. On my packs they come out of the corner of the pack. Although the wire is very flexible, it isn't able to make a 90* turn and come up and out of the provided wire notch in the battery box. ONe of the packs will sort of work if you put a lot of pressure on it, but the door is flexing itself to make the catch. Not a good situation. If the wire came out of the middle of the pack, I could cut the fins out of the exit vents and route it up and out of there.

What brand 6000mAH packs are you running? Link?

I have those packs 15c and the wires come out the middle of the pack as stated on the truerc site...do you have older packs?...got mine about two weeks ago

Django- I'm running MaxAmps packs, I have 2 sets of them, one set the wires come out the middle of the top, that takes a little bit of work but no kinks to get the wire out. The second set they come out the corner, those are much easier. I had thought about ordering the 8ah packs when I ordered the last set but couldn't justify the extra cost. I'm getting about 15 minutes of mostly full throttle with a mmm and 8xl

Just got my new Traxxas E-Revo yesteday. I have MaxAmps 6000 2s2p batteries also with wires coming out the end. I had no problem getting them in. I also have a set of 12000mAH batteries 2s2p from MaxAmps that I use in a boat, but they are too fat to go in the new E-Revo battery box.

I used to have a pair of 11.1V batteries 6000mAH from MaxAmps (long story)...but as I recall they are a good bit fatter than the 7.4v 6000mAH...I'm not sure they would fit in the E-Revo chassis.

Looks like MaxAmps is about to add and E-Revo section to their website. The link is there, but when I looked a couple days ago, there were no products behind the link.
