Data logger and MGM esc's

Anybody run a data logger like an eagle tree and compare the results to what the MGM software shows after a run?
I'm still working on my outrunner direct to diff elst but I ran it today with my 22418 on 3s lipo. It shows my max amps as 347 and full throttle as 202. Before it was upgraded to v3.22 the readings where always really high numbers not even close to reality.

3s in an LST is going to pull some huge amps but I doubt that is right unless you have some really impressive batteries.

no really, just an old maxamps 8000mah 3s2p. Its actually pretty quick. I can't wait for 6s.

I installed my Novak battery trays today. I ran the elst with 2 2s2p maxamps 8000mah batteries. I put my etrex on it and It showed a max mph of 33.8mph it seems faster (could be the trees blocking the signal). The esc and motor where both 135deg and the batteries where 100deg. I ran it again in race mode to make sure the lvc wasn't cutting in and I got the same results.

Here's the screen shot after the run.

A datalogger like an eagletree micropower can only measure with a capture rate of 1/10 of a second. If you use it with a lower capture rate you will miss some amp peaks you would have logged with the highest capture rate. My guess is that the esc measures with a higher capture rate then those of the loggers. And on the other hand ... a logger only sees what happens between Battery and ESC. Even if an ESC only draws 50A from your battery there could be much higher Amp spikes within the ESC. I think Patrick from castle mentioned this in the MMM thread.

It all comes down to: how you measure. At which rate you measure and where. This is why you see such different numbers when you compare the numbers shown in the MGMs software and those of an eagletree logger.
