Don't often see any higher than 4600kv motors used in the CRT.5, the VXL (3500KV) seems to be a popular choice. Tekin also make a brushless motor called Redline which do a good range of KV motors

I run one of the faster motors a 7L a few go with the 9L or a 1509 would go in there very nicely

Believe it or not I run a 7.4 volt Novak GTB and 6.5 (6400kv) Velocity motor in my e-crt.5 with truck tires. It runs great geared 12/46 with out any heat issues even in racing. However, I do wish it had a bit more grunt. I'm thinking 11.1 volts with a MM and VXL motor or maybe one of the 50mm Medusa motors.
