Revo with centerdiff unloading
What can be done with the Revo center diff to keep it from unloading ?
I have tried Kyosho 500K and Ofna diff lock lube, I didnt notice much difference but from what I understand the Ofna diff lock should be thicker. |
Get rid of the center diff. Revo is too heavy in the rear to use it. I tried a while, and took it right back out. Get the FOC instead ;). I did a search and found pretty much the same from everyone. Havn't found anyone yet happy with a center diff in Revo.

diff lock is as thick as it gets, whats your spur/pinion ratio? I have mine @ 38/18 and mine only gets out ouf contol after about 200 ft of WOT, I have been thinking about putting some lead weight in the front to keep the front end down...maybe about a couple of ozs, I have a CD with 500,000 wt . from what I have heard from other members the Revo CD doesnt do that much |
Azjc,
I've got 30,000 in my buggy CD, but you’re running 500,000 (?) Wow...:surprised: I'm with 83gt, Lose the CD on the E-Revo, that a heavy truck and your better off with a G1 single speed tran for $110. |

Is anyone racing with the CD?

The whole point of a center diff is to unload the power to the front (to a certain extent). If you want alot of wheelie action and solid power to the front/rear then put the stock shaft back in.

Thanks guys, I take it there are no aftermarket / current mods that will allow for a "proper" (truggy) centerdiff on a std. Revo chassis either ?

I bought this off of eBay. It supposedly is a full 1/8th scale diff for the the Revo. When it arrives, I will follow up with a review.

Nope, the link was to a full 1/8 scale center differential. Look at the size of the cup compared to the gear. The revo diff cup is considerably smaller than the drive gear. This one extends nearly to the edge of the drive gear. I will keep you informed when it arrives.

That 1/8 diff seems to be GiffrinRU's work or am I wrong ?
|
yes it is. Do you have one?
|
Nope but I am very interested to hear how it works and what parts are beeing used.
Post back when you get it. |
Definately! If I could get my hands on a couple more I would. I know I could produce them if I get an extra one or two. They would be a hit out here on the west coast. Dudes love running the CD but the traxxas one is no good and lasts no more than a couple of hours. Plus as you know it only has the two spider gears and even running diff lock still unloads too much to the front axle. If this indeed a true ofna or hb style diff, with 4 spiders, it will be infinately more tuneable and reliable. In the same fashion as the V2 diffs. Just ordered my first set of those too! Can't wait to try them.
