Possibly a solution for usb on MMM

K well let me explain. There will still not be a USB on board BUT...
you can use a Y adapter with a switch and it should work.
You have a male plug on MMM so this should work like this.

Male from MMM to single female on Y. Split this and put a Male on one split( this is your castle link) Then put a switch on the other split across the signal wire. Then put another male on that end.(this is your rx end) Now when you want to use your castle link just turn the switch to off so the signal is not being sent to your rx. It will still power on but the castle link will not know it is on because you killed the signal and the ESC will not react because the only signal it sees is the Castle link.
Sorry if you are confused, i will test this tonight and post pictures if it works. If anyone Knows for sure this will not work let me know and i will not test it.

Yes like this - It should work

yep my thoughts exactly. I seen no reason for it to not work so figured i pass it on. I hear people always complaining about having to open there radio box, well no more.

Great idea:yes: I still prefer the usb hock up personally for the reason mentioned above.

Why do you need a switch? I dont see any reason for needing it. It should work just fine as a Y adapter without a switch. I havent done it with the MMM this way, but I have done it with the R1Pro that way. A Y without a switch.

The only reason I can think that it wouldnt work without the switch is if the internal BEC gets powered with the USB and tries to power the Rx. I wouldnt think so, but possible. It may work any even if it did power the rx as long as you dont turn your radio on.

I'm just going to use a short extension to get out of the radio box, I'll disconnect it there to plug in the castle link, no point in a Y adapter much less the time to put a switch in it if necessary.

Depends if you had no other "devices" in there I don't think you would need it but if you had a cc bec you might have an issue.

The switch is needed to keep the rx and mmm from talking to each other. If the castle link and the rx is telling the mmm something at the same time it could get hairy. Would hate to see a bad mmm from updating firmware and the rx decided to send some info over and screw up the firmware. The rx still sends info out even if your radio is off. Not to mention any 2.4ghz could interfere if the radio is not on. That is why they say to always power on your radio first. Hope that helped

If you're worried about cross communication, you should use a SPDT switch instead. That way, only the receiver OR the link can talk to the ESC at once. With a SPST, there is a position where both could talk at the same time.

Like so:

I was also thinking a standard battery switch with the two wires so you can cut the power to the rx as well.

Like this. Also brian what program you use to create such good diagrams?

Paint Shop Pro (poor man's Photoshop). But really, what I did can be done in Paint, but the quality of saved JPGs are crappy.

If you want something for free, try Gimp. There is a learning curve, but it's pretty good for the price (free).

BRING OUT THE GIMP!!!

Great program, as long as you can get over all the bondage pics.

I think it's cool when you guys come up with this stuff but I don't see what the advantage this is over using an extention like E-Revonut said:neutral:

My plan is use the extention to plug in the esc outside of the rx box (emaxx)and when it's time to make adjustments use that connection to plug in the Castle link...
