My latest toy - B-Revo

So I got busy today and slotted all the bits into a new E-Revo.

It's a start point right now. The gearing is the first to experiment with but I also plan to install my two 7700 MM setups to run as a twin combo.

Right now she's running 4S through a MM ESC into a 9L. Stock gearing for now, need to see how she runs.

As I'm running 4S I use a CC EBEC.
I also made up a small capacitor array to further help keep temps down along with the Novak Fan.

Nice, clean setup, well done. Have you ran it yet?

I've dribbled it round the garage on 2S to check the functionality of the EBEC and programming. Will get out on 4S tomorrow weather permitting.

Sweet, be sure to post up an update on how it goes

:gasp: Wow.. You've already got the RPM stuff on it.. Looks great!.. let us know how it lasts, what kind of heat sink is that (?).. you should really like the 4s..

have a great one, thanks for sharing...

Those RPM looks good on the Revo....Let us know how the 4S run goes....

I hope to get out with it later today with a camera. if it's going to explode I'd like it on video at least. Will post a link if/when.

So I ran her today. Just 4 minutes or so.

I made the following observations.

- The suspension is a little too soft. I can fix that.
- The Brakes on the Mamba/9L pairing are brutally harsh, and they were on 35%. I'll try 10% next time.
- temps seems fine after the paltry 4 minutes or so. Motor was touchable and the ESC mildly warm.
- Performance is fine for what I want. No point having a 60mph scorcher if that's all it does, I reckon this is in the mid 40's with rapid accel.... bit wheely happy on grass .

Like my new decals ?? ;-)

I would stay away from the MM 7700s they have little torque and with the weight of a revo you need that torque or the motor(s) eill get hot...I would go with a Feigo 9XL, Medusa 60/2000 or a Neu 1515/1y if you want to run 4s

marcus 07.04.2008 07:38 PM

I didn't think that it was Hot

I've had brushed and brushless motors that would fail the spit test. I could grip this motor fairly easily.

I'll see how it goes temp wise on a longer runtime.

I have got a 7xl spare but thought that wasn't as suitable as the 9L. What do you think of that option?

the 7XL being a lower turn motor will pull more amps and that will cause heat, the Feigaos do run hotter than the Medusas or the neus due to thier design

So the 9L is the better choice at 4S and with the MM ESC then [?].....
