Weak bodies...
I was wondering if theres any good bodies out that that are TOUGH, i mean REALLY TOUGH!! Im tired of wimpy bodies that cant take a beating. Hell, i would love a aluminum bodie except im afriand to scratch it up. Is ther any bodies that are like 3mm THICK or somethign like that? Whats the strongest bodies u got?
|
Thinner bodies are actualy tougher than thick bodies. Thin bodies can flex a lot farther than thick bodies before breaking and riping.
|
I don't see why anyone would want an aluminium body. It would dent, stratch etc. wish ease. I believe most bodies are polycarbonate, bear in mind the police use polycarbonate sheilds in riot shields. It's about the toughest plastic around.....
|
well that makes sense, but is there anything else that might be stronger? Wuts the toughest body you got? Or which brand is the best?

Have you owned any Proline .060mm bodies? They're pretty darn durable, I beat my Pede's CJ8 for years and it only tore the rear fender in a bad high speed parking lot cartwheel. The Land Cruiser on my rock crawler Clod has seen some hard hits too, still fine. The body that's in my avatar however, was junk, shattered at the nose for some reason. I think it was old, or sat in the sun for a while, because my other Proline MP 7.5 Crowd Pleazer has taken a beating just fine.....the newer and pretty one is duct taped together.

If you're just bashing and don't mind the weight, consider a roll cage. I have one from VGRacing (you can find them on ebay all the time) on my E-Maxx and it works great. The one they make specifically for the stock E-Maxx lets you change batteries pretty easily, too.
I haven't damaged a body on the E-Maxx since I stopped using them ;) |
The proline bodies(already mentioned) are very tough. I have a couple that are over a year old, used on a couple different trucks and still are holding up.
|
Exactly, go with Proline! :D

Belive it or not i found a guy online that makes carbon fiber bodys for kyosho & ofna buggy's. They are pretty hot looking. If i remember right his site is carbon joe.com or carbon joe .net. I would post a link buy i dont know how sorry.

IF you use a soldering iron and melt the holes threw the body it make it stronger. I run the proline .060 mm. It has been tough. I survived when the motor didn't.
|
You can get Glass-Fibre shells, very strong! You can stand on them and they won't bend or snap.

can we see the top nick.

Pro-Line Crowd Pleazer or the 50's pickup are rounded, thick, and extremely durable.
