Wow that 1512 1.5y is rated for 3s and your running 4 & 5s on it, how the motor temp (?)

Your running approx:
45mph on 4s and 53 mph on 5s what speed are your looking for 49 mph (??)

P.S.

i have no motor temp. not even enough to want to temp it.
last race ( we have a long long sraight) the nitros were catching me .

i didnt know it was rated for 3s?
on 5s i couldnt control it on the straight. wheel spin the whole time LOL.:-)
so im gona
run over to mikes house and try a 20t and see how it goes..

TDC57 must be thinking of the 1512 1.5d (3300kv), because the 1512 1.5y (1850kv) would still be in spec on 8s (rpm anyway).

What size spur do you use?

Use the BrianG speed caluculator and target 40mph. That should be plenty for the track. Not many nitros actually getting to those speeds.

I typically shoot for right around 38mph and that seems just about perfect to me.

with 4s on that motor in a buggy 20T should get you to about 38mph and 21T should get you to 40mph. Sounds like you are on the right track to me.
