will the current X ray motor mount fit the New 808 buggy?
there is new buggy from X ray its called 808, will the current motor mount fit it? thanks..
|
Yes. But you need to use the center dif upright from the older Xray buggies or XT8 with the motor mount. The 808 center dif mount is just a little bit shorter by a mm or 2. You also need to just a little bit of trimng on the side mud guard for clearance. Heres a picture of my brushless 808 so you can see it works.

I quite dont follow, is it hard to do? i can see about the mud guard grinding but about diff im not sure if I follow you.. I never really had a buggy like this b4..

Its not hard, just subsitute this part for the 808 part, it bolts right in.
Xray part number 354011 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/13398 Just get this part and replace the one that comes with the 808 kit with it. The center dif mount plates that come with the 808 are a couple mm shorter than the RC-Monster Xray motor mount. The RC- Monster mount was designed to work with the old xray buggy and truggy parts but everything works on the new buggy except for this part. Triming the mud guard where the motor mount hits it is easy. Dremel or hobby knife or even body scisors will do the job. Again.. its simple and obviuos when you see it. |
I get it now, btw, hows the quality of this kit?
my proposed set up Neu 1512 2.5D/F hyperion 5S 4800 20C MMM (when if comes out) thanks.. |
looks good.. post some pics when your done.. You will LOVE the 808.. I have two of them
|
Xray quality is supposedly the best there is. That set up should work great. Although 5s on the 1512/2.5d may be a little too much for the track... although it should still work well.

Yes. Xray is unmatched in quality, fit and finish IMO.
I think the 1512/2.5D is a good motor choice for 5s. I ran that for quite some time in my buggy. I think I like the 1512/3D better though. Still good power (more than you can actually use), but even better run time and cooler temps. The 1515/2.5D is also a very good chioce IMO. Very cool running and powerful and still a very good run time because the rpms are still below 30k. |
