Amainhobbies seems a little shady!!
Last Sun, 7/13 I purchase a Mugen MBXT for $495. Seems a good deal so I bought it. Following day Mon, I saw it advertised for $465, so I called and requested for them to refund me my $30 of price difference so they said yes. I still havent got my refund yet but they took out in the amount of $495 plus tax, shipping etc. I'll give them few days more for the return, but what kinda gets me thinking is that the price of New Revo Plat. is now $669 where as yesterday was $569. $100 difference in ONe day??? in this hobby price is very very tight. Also, I noticed that prices on car kits changes daily.. It seems like the price you get is luck of a draw. just my thount

I have have nothing but great service from Amain. Stuff from there turns up in no time and prices are great. It is dam good service that they are willing to refund your $30. I'd give it a few days since they did agree, if they weren't going to refund it why not just say no.

I have also gotten nothing but great service from them. $465 for a MBX5T is a top notch price. Good luck on the build!

Amain gave me a store credit for the difference when this happened to me on something...
|
I have had no problems with Amain, best service out there
|
I have only purchased parts, not full kits from amain, but they are great.
I live on the east coast but I still get my stuff quick. They ship out same day (at least they have for me) and shipping is quite reasonable. My only complaint is that the free shipping for over $100 is fedex, so if I spend more then 100 in parts (still a small box) it will take 5-7 days to get here, were as if I pay the $4-5 for first class USPS, or $6-7 for priority mail, it will only take 2-3 days. Why do companies prefer to deal with UPS/Fedex even though they cost more? And, if they end up giving you store credit, is that really a bad thing? you know you will end up buying something else... |
Likewise - I've been buying from them for about 2 1/2 years with no problems and nothing but great service -
One thing to note - if you have a login to their website, go to My Account and login before browsing as prices do change from not being logged in to being logged in. |
I never had any problems with Amain hobbies. In fact, I like them better than Tower since they ship quicker.
|
I've got to try them out then.

yeah amain are great in my experience too, have always shipped my orders within a few hours, one week tops from confirming on their website to my door in Australia.
I've noticed tower's prices jump around a lot too, it's not amain being shady. a recent example is the mamba monster combos, they posted them for $290, but got hit with a few $60 discount coupons, so they jacked up the price $60 to compensate, now theyre at $350 |
The mugen price drop may have to do with Mugen not making them anymore (maybe a new version coming...) but I don't know about the revo
Amain is a good biz from what I've known |
I have been buying from them for 3+ yrs.....w/excellent service and shipping...They are also EXCELLENT if you have anything on back order about keeping you info and updated.

Got the truck, my refund and Im all good! The truck did seems to be opened. the factory seal is broken..
Amain seems to be good dealer. I was wroing. thanks. |
I bought a Sav 4.6SS from a midwest shop over the net and when I got it, box had obviously been opened. One of the bags with prebuilt diffs had also been opened - I'm guessing one diff was 'borrowed' and then replaced. I used the manual and did an inventory - everything was there, so it was just an irritation/disappointment.
This was not from AMain - I've been nothing but impressed with their service, they're getting more and more of my business. |
I use them often and have no issue at all, I just placed another order Friday night and I should have it Wednesday.. Best of luck with your build..
