NY/NY/CT/PA Driver! The August bash at the Barn...

What are the rules. I hope we don't need hard cased lipos. I was going to go to the last bash, but I was waiting for the controller and I kept having problems with it using a bad motor. I just found a Aveox to put in my truck, but it's a low Kv (1185) one and I'll never be able to keep up with you guys.

No limits on number of cells or type of packs... 4 or more and we get our own class - The heats were 5min and the main only 6min this week which was a little short IMO. It is very much driver ability between brushless and nitro.

Generally just post up if you are short something - ESC's included and someone can help out - I seem to be the parts bin = This week is was CC 5.5mm plugs for Ryan and a MIP CVD pin for Mike...

I'm only going to bring my trucks if I go. All my buggies are down for the moment. How many had truggies at the last bash?

I'm down for the 17th. What about the 9-10th? The TQ Challenge (BBQ Race), if there is enough of us brushless, do you think they would let us race? A couple of my friends are going to race the 2 day event, if I go I'd be the only one brushless and they would probably not let me race.

Opinions?

Bye:mdr:

They seem pretty cool w/ BL on whatever. We were driving the 1/8th BL w/ the nitros. Mike's been going there for like 10 years. If any track is cool w/ BL its Barnstormers. No stupid ass roar lipo rules either. Plenty of plugs inside for chargers too.

I'll see what I can do, my sched is getting pretty dicey for the rest of the year.

You know, nitro people complain about electrics for runtime, but since there wasn't enough pit guys for the nitros they had to cut the mains down to one tank of fuel....:slap:

17th is the only date I can do...

You don't need a screaming setup to be competitive there. Like Arct1k said, its more driving ability than anything. I had a 1515 2.5D on only 4S in my truggy and it was plenty of power. Not quite the top end Mike and Chris had on 5S, but still more power than the guys driving .28s and whatnot in their truggs. They will have that course up for another 4 races (see vid in other thread), and its mostly low spd technical stuff. Only one straight and if you can do 35mph you'll be fine.

Cool, my BPP is set for around 33mph, but my MBX5T is only set for 26mph with current motor/battery set up. Oh well, if I go, I will only need to land on somebody's truck that is fast and have him carry me to the finish line .

The Barn is closed August 17th...

"We will be closed August 17
to attend Round 2 of the
North East Super Series @
Wolcott Hobby in Wolcott, CT"

Arct1k 07.23.2008 08:26 AM

Oops OK 24th anyone?

Electric Dave 07.24.2008 09:14 AM

I know I've been a no-show to all the previous events this year but I'd say there is a chance I can actually make it on the 24th...

cemetery gates 07.24.2008 09:49 AM

The 24th seems all clear for me.
