8ight-t gear ratio?

What is the gear ratio of a Losi 8T? I know this sounds dumb, but I can't for the life of me find it.

I'm triing to find what kv BL motor I would need and I need gear ratio info.

the diffs ? 43/10 or 4.3... link ....dont know what spur and pinion you are running

I run 14/48 with a 2200kv, 1515/1y Neu motor. Calc's out @ about 37m.p.h., which I've found perfect for racing with the nitro's. Only the highly modded or higher geared ones can match me down a long straight.

I guessed on the conversion link I found somewhere here and came up w/ 2300 KV...so I was close. Thanks.

So I'm looking for more on the torque side of the kv range than speed? I know the deal w/ winds on brushed motors, but have always been a little confused about BL. Outrunner, inrunner, 2.8mm shafts, 5mm shafts, 1/8th" shafts.... Why can't they just come up w/ a HP/Torque dyno chart w/ an RPM range like full scale engines. Thanks again.

You need to share whatever you're smoking.

The best setup I ever ran in my 8ight-T, out of four different setups, was a 1700kv Tekin buggy motor, 5s 30c LiPo, MMM and a 50 tooth spur with a 16 tooth pinion. It was perfect in my opinion, had plenty of torque great speed an controlability.

That's exactly what I would do if I were to build another one.

Just my .02 cents.

I'm running a mugen MBX6T but this is almost EXACTLY the same setup I'm running. I'm using a RX8/1700kv truggy motor, 5s 35c LiPo, geared 16/46. I just picked up Mike's delrin 50T spur for the slipperential so I'll be running either 16 or 17/50 depending on track size.

I had zero issue with torque with the 16/46 setup actually. Plenty available all the time (no current limit, Zero timing on the motor)...

I run the MMM 1y combo on 4s lipo with 13/50 gearing and race vs nitro on a pretty big track; my last race I tq'ed and took 2nd in the a-main.. would have done better but my battery came unplugged about 1/2 way in!! Lost 3 laps and still pulled #2 :)
