trimmed the slash for badlands.

well i raised the front and rear mounts up to the higest possible, i put the wide offset grey hexs on the rear to match the front, i used the traxxas nitro star 5 spokes (all front offset) and of course with badlands tires.

this was my solution to cutting and blowing up the stock tires (even with a tirmmed body) so now i should have 10X better traction, no more pushing, and no more tearing up tires, i may not look the best but it will definetly work.

it actually looks pretty sweet.
the body and the bladlands look great togethe

that looks badazz, full on Baja 1000. I like it better

jnev 07.31.2008 12:07 AM

To tell you the truth, I actually like it better. It looks great!!

Umm... +1 +1 and +1! I think it looks fine. You'll just have more dirt to clean out when you're done!

I've got a WIP Slash right now. Waiting on wheels, tires, and a good 4s motor. Any recommendations? What are you running?

E-Traxxer 07.31.2008 02:48 AM

I think I might do this with mine. It looks good!
Those bigger tires can't hurt it, either. The tiny stockers don't grip very well in softer stuff, which is usually what I run on.

I ran mine on grass with the stockers and I could barely get any traction. They are nice for that "scale appearance" but aren't practical for driving.

gixxer 07.31.2008 02:56 AM

for what its worth I also think it looks better.

rootar 07.31.2008 07:26 AM

the badlands hookup amazing, the extra 3/4" of width is nice also, it does get pretty squirly past 35 due to the tires not being taped but the front tires make a huge difference turning, and the rear end isnt near as quick to swap around on you coming out of a turn, so im very happy with after driving it this mourning. and im starting to argee wiht yall and the more i look at it the more i like it.

i am thinking about taking the rear bumper off so when i land a bigger jump a little nose high it wont send it cartwheeling.

im running a 9L, mm w/ ccbec, and 5000 3s, MORE than enough power, no temp problems, and 45 minutes of runtime aint bad either. 4s might be alittle much in the slash....but im not one to talk about putting toomuch power into something, hell im running 1515 and 5s in a buggy

post some pics of how you guys trimmed your slashes! i know brad cut most of the fender that hangs down off his and then took a heatgun and flared the rest up and out to keep from cutting tires and also get the tires farther under the wheel wells.

Will you stop posting pictures.. I didn't want one and now I want one... Looks good!

I picked up a Feigao 540S 16T (~2200kV) so that should do it. 22/90 gearing puts it around 40 mph, which is perfect for bashing.

the front looks sweet but i don't dig the rear.
p.s. have you tried the buggy wheel adapter from new era?

bl-is-future 07.31.2008 01:33 PM
