no wires on a neu?
is it possible to solder a female connector through the endbell or are the wires there for resistance?
|
I wouldn't do it. For one thing, only the last little bit of the wire is solderable. If you cut that off, you won't easily be able to solder to what is left.
There is an insulative varnish coating on the wire you'd need to remove if you do cut them. There are solvents you can use to do this, but be careful to not let the solvent wick along the wire into the coils area. |

The insulation is rated at 200*C I believe. You can use a small butane torch to solder to the cut wires. Again, you need to be careful not to overheat or damage any other part of the motor. A clamp-on heatsink would help. I did this with my 600XL- because I cut the OEM connectors off without thinking. :oh: It worked out well.
