Is 1515 too much for my buggy/batteries?

That is, I have the chance to buy a used 1515 2.5D/F for my 808 and I donīt know if it will be too much for the buggy...

Though I think I could handle that extra torque with the castle link, donīt know if its weight would be too much for my setup, already have a 6s pack dropped in and Iīm racing with it...

And the other question is that being a 100Amp motor Iīm seriously concerned about my batts (6s 4000 zippy-H) and though they seem to be ok with my current motor (medusa) donīt know what would happen if I use them with the neu (maybe puffing in a few runs?).

The only "problem" I see is that a 1515 may be too heavy, race wise. I believe there is no such thing as too powerful, it just requires more driving practice. :mdr:

About the 100A rating on the motor, you aren't going to be drawing 2200 watts from your batteries ALL THE TIME. That is mainly a peak rating that you see upon acceleration. Though if you have it geared for 120 mph, then you might see it continuously. At lower speeds, say 40 mph, you will only use about 30-50A continuously.

Forget about it, just found that finned neus are around 44mm in diameter so it would never fit in my car, will have to wait till I find a smooth version.

Sorry for the post, next time I´ll think twice before posting a new thread. You can delete this if you want. Anyway thanks a lot!

Don't worry about it. There are many more "less useful" threads on this forum. :mdr: Besides, I'm not an Admin so I couldn't delete it anyways!

Have you tried sending Mike an email to ask if he has that motor with a smooth can? rcmonstermike@gmail.com

No, right now I´m not buying it new, I have a medusa 2000 on my car and a medusa 1500 is on its way, it was just that I found the oportunity to buy this one at a good price...

Thanks a lot What´s_nitro?

No problem, and good luck at the races! :yipi:

when you have a 1515 in a buggy the extra weight is just more traction, just have to setup your suspension to handle and slight bit of extra weight.

Well that surely makes some sense too...
