A Great Addition To RCM

I dont know about you guys but I think RCM would be even better if we had a "For Sale or Trade" thread and a seperate "Want To Buy" thread here on RCM somewere. Nothing fancy, just a place were people can put up their auctions and claim what they want and need because the "General Discussion" forum just doesnt cut it for me. I know Mike, the admins and mods probably want nothing to do with this but it would probably help out quite a bit. Tke for instance how RC-T is setup. They have this stuff and look at how much attention it gets from people. Thats in my opinion would be a big boost to the site. But heres the catch... You'll have to have a certain amount of posts and will have to be an active member on the forums to be able to use these. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

Jup, I don't like it to. There should come a new thingy (how you call it) where you can sale stuff.. :intello:

a marketplace

but as stated by other members, its a privelege to sell stuff on a forum that was made to supplement Mike's store. he is letting us sell things here. i wouldnt push our luck.. but yes it would be a great addition

I was also thinking that if mike had an issue with someone selling something cheaper than what he's selling it for then he could do what he wanted with those auctions. I dont see why not for everything else.

this has also been been discussed many times and im sure if these threads keep popping up we will not be able to sell items at all. I am thankful for what we have as it stands.

I apologize if this has been brought up before. I was just wondering why we didnt have one. I see many good points so I rest my case.

I am sure that Mike does not want to continually search the forum for sale items that are cheaper than his... Monitoring something like that would take a bunch of people, and time. I agree that a for sale section would be handy. but the mods and admin know how we feel... They will make the descisions that work the best for all involved.

If we got a few more mods just for that part of the forums then Im sure they would do a swell job keeping it under control and making it fair for mike.

just my opinion and I have no input here LOL... sounds like it would become a cretinfest here and frankly I dont need the competition. Too many "XL5 rusty for sale" posts and eventually it would get bigger and bigger and the mods would need to get paid to devote so much time, so mike/the site would need advertisers for income. Just seems like it would be a huge snowball effect until this was like rcuniverse and arent we here because it isnt like that ? jmo

True, or a specific set of rules... Catch 22 situation with a dedicated for sale forum, it is hard to really enforce rules that specify what you can sell. You can post rules for how to sell, and that is about it. I know the traxxas forum only allows selling traxxas products, but it would be hard to enforce a set of rules that cver everything that Mike sells.

I am sure that as this segment of the hobby, and this forum grow, Mike will sell more of the specalized parts he carries. The other stuff that can be sourced from other suppliers will continue to sell, possibly a bit better as most like one-stop shopping.

every time one of these threads pop up i try to stress that mike will eventually get fed up with it and then ban selling all together. I feel if he would like to do this it would already be done. Myself this is the only place i sell because i feel at home with the members. EBAY sucks and the other forums IMO have way to many idiots. Since i found this forum i have not sold a single thing on EBAY. I am thankful for this. I understand your point but i just dont ant it to be ruined for the people. (yourself including)

Not to take away from this forum because it is Thee Ultimate Brushless site.. I would be willing to setup a forum just for selling used brushless stuff... it could be our own little family for trading/selling.. just a thought...

this is not intended for taking way from mikes site... there is no way that I would even a brushless setup if I didn't find this site and his products...

I fully agree, no need to beat a dead horse. Almost wish that a mod or serum would post a sticky that solidifies the selling rules, and has something that states that they will not be changed, regardless of popular opinion...

My greatest apologies you guys. Im just a curious guy.
