Losi 8ight-t Diff
So I was working on my conversion last night and I put the Kyosho gear on and my mount and I was working on putting all back together and when I tighten the bolt from the chassis to the diff mounts it makes the spur gear rub... I couldn't tell exactly where but I played with for 30 min and gave up and went to bed.. What could I be doing wrong here? if I leave the top and bottom mount it does rub but as soon as I tighten it I can hear/feel it.. :diablo:

The Kyosho gears are a bit wider, I had problems with the screw heads hitting in my Buggy, so check that. I have used a countersink to sink the screws in more or just file a little bit off of the rear diff mount and you won't have to worry about when you replace the gear.

Thanks for the insight as always! I will try that
Did you find me a Muggy roller yet? lol |
Why not use the stock steel spur with a RCM hardened pinion? Mine has been working flawlessly in my 8ight.

mmm cause I never though about it... and I bought a used kit that came with a new 46t kyosho gear and that's what they said to use heheh

Plastic spurs are soooooooo much quieter....

Ya,
Someone should sell a custom aluminum center diff adapter that will fit the Ofna 51T plastic spur... hint hint :intello: I bet those would sell like hotcakes  |

The issue is the center diffs rear bearing. The rc-monster mount has a slight indented lip carved in it like the stock one for the flanged bearing to rest in, Rc product designs mount fits kyosho spurs (but not stock or RRP spurs) it has no lip and it places the center diff in or out (I cant remember) a mm or 2. If mike just didnt make that lip you could use the kyosho spurs, but not the stockers, wont work both ways. Maybe offer 2 mounts ? ( I had both mounts)

The mugen diff uses 5mm shafts so it won't fit the Losi8 diff properly unless you make your own 5mm shaft mod. This could be done but I'd rather use standard 6mm shafts. Also, the ZMT-008 is getting pretty hard to find these days  I've got 3 of them  |
WEll I took BDE advice and it fixed it... until I had the diff on backwards and that was why it was rubbing... LOL I went to put the motor on and it didn't reach the spur gear and I was like Hey.... LOL I am awesome!
