Check out the NanoSafe Batteries
I couldn't find the specs on the batteries themselves...
Sweet! Nice looking too. I didn't see anything about runtime, but the range has to be fairly small per charge. 700HP is over 522,000w. At even 500v, that's still over 1000A. Of course, it won't need that level all the time.

wow.. that just sounds amazing... sweet looking car too...
Here are the few specs I could find...
Drive Motor: • Hi-Pa Drive™ technology - four 120kw power Permanent Magnet brushless motors Battery: • State of the art NanoSafe™ battery packs. 36kw power Braking: • Regenerative braking on all four wheels http://www.lightningcarcompany.co.uk...-Spec-Card.pdf |
price will be high they will start @ 300k, about 3x what a Tesla will cost
http://my.88db.com/my/Knowledge/Know...ike/?kid=10604 here is a link to the Tesla Roadster http://www.teslamotors.com/ link to vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOl_1S10jTk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE2Yd...eature=related and there is a plan to have optional solar panels so you could charge while you drive |
When will a better EV come out? I need to find me a private investor with tons on $$$$ to spare and show everyone how it's done.
Looks like an Aston Martin. That means I like it. :rules:
Lightning claims the batteries charge in 10 minutes!!!!
If you watch some of the videos on youtube there are a lot of assertions on speed & range...I guess they are going to limit it to about 130 mph and the range will be about 300 miles. |
Any dimensions/weight on the batteries yet?
I read on there somewhere that the batteries start out the about the same size as a regular Lead Acid battery...... atleast the battery technology is getting better.... maybe a few more years, we will have these for RC uses... Oh yeah.. Full scale RC will be streamline... hahaah
