Revo Build money no object
 

I am new to customizing my own rc vehicles, and have seen a lot of great builds on this site and now I would like to convert a stock e-revo I just received. My question to any one who has any suggestions what is the absolute best parts I need to upgrade this revo to be very fast, durable, and handle. Money is no object I can afford any item if you say that is what I need.

I'd suggest doing a search in the Revo forum, and look at the conversion Dafni did. One of the finest out there.

You won't be upgrading your e-revo so much as replacing it. If you look at some of the more expensive builds they have replaced everything on the truck. So if money's no object, you can have one stock basher e-revo and a fully custom e-revo. :tongue:

+1 on checking out TDC57's build in the Gorillamaxx forum, one of the nicest builds on RCM.

If you wanted extreme mods you shouldn't have bought a stock one :lol: like what I did with my EMAXX, everything was aftermarket

Anyway, if you are looking to just power up your stock E-Revo minimal mods on the chassis. Check the Revo forum there are several guys that had their setup. You can look at mine too... :whistle: but its only a simply one.

Motor ESC and batts are the best bets....they have hundreds of thread here at RCM. Try brushless forum for that one....

The first place I would start is to decide what this truck is going to be used for primarily. That will help as a basis for what you want to do. Nothing like spending a ton of money then realizing you went the wrong direction compared to your needs/desires.

check out the flextek titanium arms. Pricey but as close to indestructable as you can get.

if your going to build i high dollar truck, start with a high dollar drivetrain.. if your setup is gonna be a 1515 or 152x you need more then the stock plastic sliders and diffs :D

rcm hybrid diffs, gmaxx, MMM, 1527, 6s :D

IMO get a Spektrum radio system ,a MMM esc and Neu 1515 - whatever the 2200kv is,a good set of lipos,and drive the piss out of it :) I'm a upgrade junky,and have yet to find a single item that needed to be upgraded on the Erevo.Most who have highly upgraded started with conversions and needed new chassis and such.If you just have a bunch of money burning a hole in your pocket and want something custom,then start a scratch build.Of course this is MO .

I'm not so sure this is true anymore. I've had better luck with the stock revo sliders holding up than I have with any of the different CVD's.

The stock plastic sliders to the wheels are still the best/most reliable setup IMO. I went through all kinds of CVDs before going back to the plastic sliders. I just consider them a wear item. Eventually the joints on them start to stretch, but then I just replace them before they fail. They last quite a while (half a race season or so) before they need replacing. They last longer than any of the CVDs I ever tried anyway, and hell of a lot cheaper.

But money is nothing to this guy! :lol:

Gotta agree with truck basher, if you bought a revo to upgrade, you kinda screwed up already. :tongue: I think the only thing left stock on my emaxx is the tranny case and a few gears. Oh, and the steering knuckles. But yeah, I made the same mistake...bought a emaxx instead of building one up.
