mmm peoples opinion of the v2
hi guys well im still really undecided on what esc to use in my conversions
so to all the guys that have recieved the mamba monster v2 what is your opinion how are they working out for you.. do we no how many v2's that have stopped working now |
I have a couple hours of run time on mine with no problems.
|
Im had a looong bash session today. V2 runs awesome ! 11 hours and growing. Run it with a 9xl on 4s and 5s and a 1515/1y on 5s and 6s, smooth like Barry White, posssibly the best thing since Hellmans put mayonaise in a squeeze tub !
|
Raced mine pretty hard yesterday and Saturday with no problems. Outside temps about 80 degrees or so. Temps never got about 130 on the ESC yesterday running 5s with a 1515 2.5d in a buggy. I took the stock fan out as I broke the fan plug within the first two minutes of racing and put on a Novak 30mm running off the receiver. I also dremmeled out the grill to prevent it from catching the fan blades. The ESC works PERFECTLY right now.

Ok, I had been holding out actually, but now that I have seen the MMM compared (favorably) to a squeezable condiment, I am totally sold....

Im glad to hear about all the recent positives, I think if bug is all fixed, V2 MMM is a must buy in my book. im about to install it in my fairly new e-revo, am I allow to remove the sticker without voiding warranty? i want it to stick better to the chassis

Almost Perfect
Mine works great so far, three track days, about 10 packs on 5s. The only problem I've had is the fan, it worked once but the first time I took it off the track, a blade was broken and jammed in the grille. I removed the blade and the fan still worked but soon after it quit. I will say though, my temps have been so low even without the fan that it likely wouldn't have come on anyway. Great unit, highly recommended, I've got my second one coming!

My v2 has a minimum of 30 full packs through it (2x5s 4000mah and 1x6s 5000mah per day) and it has been perfect. I run it in an E-Maxx with a 10xl geared 20/68.
|
v2 in converted revo geared 17/36 with wide ratio tranny gears. 7 hours of heavy bashing, Saturday morning it will see a couple hours of track time. It is so smooth even in low throttle situations. I can put the revo along smoothly at a crawl and slow dial it up and it just takes it with out a hiccup.

hah i have over 30 runs on my v1 and still kicking. And hearing about the v2's i will trade it but not until the last bit of my warranty or until it fails.

I have run mine on 6s and 4s. I have tried to be hard on the MMM, but so far she's taking all I dish out. about 9hours on it now. I'm impressed.

So far so good. It seems to be good to go with some basic case mods to fix a fan design that is still not up to snuff IMO, and to prevent the fan connector from being broken off of the circut board.
(Patrick, was that pad seriously supposed to fix the broken plug problem:sarcastic:) I still have 2 V1s that are running fine after the case mods. The one that died on me had a good 20 hours of runtime before it died so if this V2 reaches 20 hours of run time and doesn't die I'll stop holding my breath. I wasnt sure if I was going to like the 6mm plugs on the board, but I gotta say it sure makes soldering the wires easier and much less intimidating to trim them short because they are easily replaceable if you ever want them long again. |
That great news about the V2
