MMM v2 problem!
I got my Tekno neu today so I took the evx-2 and titans out of my E-REVO and installed the neu and my V2 MMM that I received last week. Got everything mounted, programmed the MMM with the castle link, and calibrated the transmitter. Then I got nothing out of it!:diablo: I tried hooking up the Medusa out of my crt.5 and still got nothing. Then I hooked up the neu to the MM in my crt.5 and it moved. What's wrong? I tried switching wires around but that doesn't help. I get all the beeps and lights that I need, fan gomes on till it arms, servos work. Here's the other strange part....When I hit the throttle the green light starts flashing but the fan also starts running, neutral nothing, reverse and the fan runs again and the red light flashes. Someone please help! I'll post pics if need be.

try to check for loose solder joints....somehow the esc isn't communicating with the servo's or motor or receiver.....also trying switching out the receiver..

Sounds like you have a very expensive R/C fan! But, seriously, I can't think of any reason it would do this other than firmware problems. Even then, at least a few others would have the same problem.
Is it possible to program the controller for brake only??? Contrary to my title, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass. I'm just thinking through my keyboard... Have you tried setting the defaults and reprogramming it? Also, did you use the CL to program the MMM before syncing it to your transmitter?? I have no idea if it makes a difference but it may be worth trying it the other way. |
What radio are you using? Make sure your throttle epa is set at 100%.

Problem solved
Updated the firmware and it works! Dumb me:whistle: It's only 6:20AM so I didn'r run it much but I had to check it out quick! Supringly a 1700kv motor works nicely, even though it had been suggested that it would be disappointing. Geared 54/20, waiting on a 25t pinion from Mike, then I have 54,58,62,68t spur gears to run with it. Didn't check temps as I ran for about 2 minutes, but motor was still cold to the touch, fan didn't kick on, and lipos where the cool so at least I know that there is nothing completely wrong and drawing gobs of power. At the very least this setup rocks a stock setup, esppecially two fried titans:whistle: Also it didn't seem to have the gobs of torque, but I like that, it's not flipping over backwards everytime I stab the throttle! Can't wait to try with higher gearing though. Thanks for everyone's input in trying to solve my idiocy!

There's nothing like seeing a major disaster avoided!
Congrats and have fun with your new found power. :yipi: |
I agree. The bullet has been dodged.

I have another thread that I had started "looking for a motor" that has more info on my new neu motor.
|
I had the exact same problem as you E-Revonut..... i also just updated the firmware and then the problem was solved
|
haha im running the 2.5d on 3s in my CRT right now and it runs side by side with a stock emaxx. Fast enough to have fun with but not much else. no monster triples here.

E-Revonut: Did you have any heat problems with your new MMM?
|
no heat problems with the MMM, only got to 121* after a 15 minute run through tall grass, motor was 158*, lipos where a bit warm but they are MaxAmps and in the sealed battery compartments of an E-REVO. MMM performed flawlessly so far!
