Novak 6.5 question..
This is a question from my buddy..
"The system is a Novak 6.5 HV pro. My question is if I hook up 2 2S batteries the way its wired from the factory will I have 4s? Also is there anything wrong with connecting both reds and both blacks to one connecter. I am trying to avoid running a BEC or reciever pack. " He got his hyper up and running good, but the steering was real slow. We found out it was because he was using 1 pack without an external BEC. We're trying not to have to run one using 1 pack. Thanks. |
it will be equivalent of a 4s pack. it has built in BEC i believe
|
So the ESC automatically puts the batterys in series?

Thanks. Now is there anyway possible to use 1 battery and no BEC?
|
When you say one battery, do you mean a single 4s lipo?
Without using the built-in bec, you will have to use an rx pack or UBEC- leave the esc turned off when you plug in the batts, and that will take the load off of the built in bec. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...cevxwiring.jpg pretend there is only a single BL motor, ignore the lvc if you have one of the newer hvmaxxes. |
depepnding on how its wired- some dual battery esc's run the BEC of one side of the input (one battery) depending on how it is wired you might be able to get away with it
|
Hvmaxx has the bec ran off of one side, just like the evx/evx2- the built-in bec should be fine on those escs though, unless you are running a pair of huge digital servos. Stick with a normal pair of 2s lipos, or do what I posted above in the diagram.
