Another bike accident...
 

Well today I was off to a friends house on my friends extra bike and while i was nearing my top speed on it the chain fell off and loacked up on the rear axle which sent me to the ground in a hurry. I was caught under the bike while draging maybe 15-20ft before I came to a rest. My friend was in shock because I got up right away and rubbed myself off. I then saw my shoulder and knee and almost puked. Its the worst road rash Ive ever had... I had almost puked after I saw my shoulder which was extremely deep. I walked back to my house which was just under a block away limping a little. I still was in shock from what happened so I didnt feel barely anything. Well I got home and realized my pelvic area hurt badly. Big gash from the handle bars on my upper theigh. Might have to go to the doctor tommoro to get my elbo checked out because it hurts like hell right now. Im thinking that I might have fractured it somehow. Anyways before I went home I shot a few jokes at my frined to let him know I was fine.:lol: I thought it was pretty funny but everyone else took it so seriously. Here are a couple pics of my shoulder and knee gauzed up.

You and those darn pics ben, hehe. Ill see if i can get pics of my friends bike in a few days when he returns from his dads. Its pretty mangled.

I was getting up their in speed bensf. Probably in the 25+, maybe close to the 30 range.

Poorly maintained bikes are %#@&ing dangerous. If you are getting on a bike that you do not know check it over first.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me on a mates bike. I jumped on it to ride somewhere and half way there we decide to do a sprint. I started to pull away from him and all of a sudden chain comes off or jammed can't remember which but it caused my foot to come off the pedal and hit the tar. My back wheel then ran over my foot and I still some how managed to stay on the bike.

He then tells me how his cousin had the same thing happen to him in the same place on the same bike but wasn't as lucky and ended up in the prickly bushes on the side of the road.

i jumped a bike and snapped the front forks off, rolled 3 times and jumped up :D

His bike was in fine condition till I crashed it. Im thinking one of the nuts on the rear wheel axle wasnt tightened all the way which made it slide forward from pedaling so hard and then became to loose which in return fell off and got tangled around the rear wheel axle and stopped me dead in my tracks.

If one of the rear wheel nuts is loose then it's not in fine condition is it :lol:.

Hard to see that from the naked eye. :lol:

I know. A good check that I do on my bikes every now and then is to just grab things and flex them. It's a good way to look for cracks in the frame or loose bolts. You are right though and you are never going to see everything. I had a bottom bracket seize up on me once no warning at all.

A good check is to pick up the bike and drop it. If anything sounds/feels loose check it out. Also if its creaking it probably means something is gonna break/fall off/stop working. Like my crank arm that I was to busy to fix. :oops:

hey guys, does anyone know if a leaking crank housing or what ever its called fine?
