Its Hereeeee!!!!!!
MY MMM JUST SHOWED UP IN THE MAIL!!!!!:yipi::yipi::yipi:
yay!! now. for the questions.. should i take it apart and do the basic mods? |
it has a warranty run it stock. You start to mod it and it fails you have to BUY a new one and not warranty one for FREE
alrighty... im really happy right now :D have yet to plug it in..
should i be afraid to plug it in?
Yeah, I wouldn't do any mods if you want CC to honor the warranty. Doing stuff like that is only for not-so-bright people like myself.
is yours still running?
As of last night, yes.
thats what i want :D
reliablity |
If I were you, I would at least enlarge the side opening where the signal/switch wires exit the case and put some tape or shrink tubing on the wires. I bought a used MMM and the case had rubbed the wires almost clean thru...
I would also put some shrink on the fan wire cause it rubs on the pcb. The v1 I bought had most of the insulation rubbed off too. If the fan wires short the bec will most likely fry... If they give you any issues honoring the warranty with those mods let me know and I will call them for you... I will do these mods to all of my MMMs, and I did even more stuff to the v1 I have... I even clearanced the btoom of the case for the fan plug, and added some foam "suspension" for the pcb, as it is not really held to the case (poor design, IMO, the MM is much better) To me the heatshrink mods just gaurantee that the wires will not short out on each other. I see no reason that would void the warranty... |
im afraid to even attempt to pop the case =/
lol, then you sure don't want to do any kind of BEC modding!
yeah i am the one who just leaves things be until the warranty is up then is like what can i do to blow it up. I have not a SINGLE mod on my v1 and it is still running fine....Knock On Wood
+1 I did these changes along with removing the switch and adding the teflon washer...
Not bothering to run with Ubec though... Quote:
