I'll get mine in a rough week, i will let you know what i think of them.

So are you using the FLM Allu' gear case than transforming it into a single by splitting it and putting the Gorilla single speed cover on? Clever.

Mine half with the gmaxx single went together like it was ment to be. Have run 8 pack of batts on it. IT is doing real well. I had to tap the holes on mine so the screws would go deeper. I got the whole tranny to. Had no problems. sorry to hear about misalignment.

I've got the same problem with my single speed/FLM case. same thing as talked about in the first post. The trans has some major drag when tighten up. I will play with it more tonight to try and solve the problem.

Thank you,

I had a problem with the spacer being to thick on the output shaft. I removed it and put a thinner one in. I not sure if this is problem with these trannies or not. It was with another brand. Mine went to gether so perfect. It was liked made for one another.

After playing with this tranny case and having it together and apart a few hundred times. I just can't seem to get it to stop binding. The lower shaft and idler gear are smooth after grinding were the idler gear hit the FLM case. But the input shaft (top shaft) has some major binding. The single speed cover dosen't fit right on the FLM case. At the top of the case is were it is most out of alignment.
Maybe this is a bad case, not sure. But it is unusable the way it is now. I will try and fool with it more tomorrow.

Sounds like you got a bad one, got mine today and it seems fine, let you know for sure tomorrow

Gustav 11.05.2005 02:54 AM

OK,i got mine solved,to a large extent, still not perfectly free.Basically it was binding really bad when i tightened the top half of the case(top 3 screws) both as a 2- speed and the g-maxx single speed.Basically the top shaft bearings are too close together ie. they didn't quite mill the bearing holes deep enough.I think 4mm bearings might be an easy fix but i ended up grinding down a top gear tonight to test the theory and it's much better than before. My top shaft's not running true now though for some reason, vibrates if you spin the tranny with a drill.I'll have another go tomorrow.

Promod 11.05.2005 06:12 AM

Gustav,
That is exactly what mine is doing. When you tightened the top three screws it binds very bad. Will try and grind some more room for the bearings.

Thank you,
Promod

You could use a drill to make them deeper (worked for my 10 and 16mm holes) the fit for the bearing supports the drill very good. You could use a cloth as a filler. (cloth will be teared where there is no room for it)
