Two M's for a change!

Hey guys got a quick problem. I recently pulled a mamba maxx out of a box, plugged it in calibrated lights arm fine and then the truck jitters forward to reverse really quickly and repeatedly. Can someone tell me what this is?
I am running (or attempting to run) in reversing brushed mode. I am using a 6 cell pack. I emailed castle and was told to make sure the speed control was setup for brushed. Well when I ordered it, it was set to brushed (ordered it from a store online that sets it). This is the first time I tried to use it also.
I am hoping one of you will tell me it is a simple problem thats easily solved. I dont wanna go through castle because I bet there swamped with all the magic lamps there selling. Oh yeah and I cant program it on my pc because I have 64 bit vista as my OS. I looked through the book for manual setup but all I saw was how to wire it. I may have missed it but I didnt see it. Help is appreciated greatly as I need something too bash.

I agree that it's likely set to brushless. The store that set it up for you might have made a small mistake in the set-up.

You really just need to get to a different computer and look at the set-up. You can program a few things manually via the radio, but off the top of my head, I don't think motor type is an option. It's in the manual though.

Good luck!

Thanks man, right now I am setting up an older pc to try and fix the problem. Its taking forever, hasnt been updated since like 02'. Yeah in the Email castle support told me it was in the manual. On a slightly different, noticebly more noo-B note, what is the difference with high powered brushless? I believe the manual claims no motor limit in either brushed mode. So what EXACTLY does it offer, pros vs. cons.

High power brushless does not allow reverse, but it uses more of the FETs at the same time; 18 instead of 6. So, the possible current is higher. The wiring is a bit of a PITA because you have to use all 3 wires to the motor - connector, and then wire the battery + directly to the motor +. If your motor doesn't need hundreds of amps, I wouldn't worry about it.

I knew I wouldn't but I was just wondering. After a ton of expletives I got it to work. Castle link wouldn't install on xp, even after downloading the prerequisite .NET it wouldn't work. So I deleted it the updated EVERYTHING on this antiquated pc and downloaded. I right clicked went to run as then unchecked the "protect pc from installing software from unauthorized parties" (or something like that). Pretty much the same as running as admin in Vista.... but I didnt think this was necessary? Man I cant believe I did all this for a Freaking wheely king.....picked it up yesterday to keep me occupied till I decide on a new ride.

five minutes indoor running too see how I liked the settings and the crappy servo saver broke now I have no steering.
