MMM for my E-revo now or......

I have had my new Traxxas E-Revo for a month now and the stock setup bores me. I have been reading up and down and canīt decide. I would like to get the Mamba Monster Max esc and try with differnt moters (guess Iīll end up with a Neu). Would it be better to wait with the MMM - It seems like itīs having issues -and get ex. a Mamba Max/feigao combo until these issues are cured ? It could take months. Iīm bashing and running 4s lipo (hopefully 6s later on)

Whats your opinions ?

Regards

Depends on your setup and what motor kv rating you want...

IMO better stick with the MM and setup your E-Revo correctly to work with MM+4S or 5S....My E-REVO 9XL has plenty of torque and good speed runs...if you can get Neu it would be even better....maybe the others can suggestion somethings else too....wait for them :intello:

I am running the MM on 4s with external BEC. My motor is the Neu 1512 2d/f...I'm loving it!

As far as an ESC goes - I suggest waiting on the Mamba Monster and getting a Mamba Max and doing some basic mods (fan, capacitor, CCBEC) which are all explained and are very easy to do. I know several guys with revos who run the mamba maxes without issues.

For the motor.. You'll end up with the same motor irrelevant of the ESC you choose. So I suggest buying the motor. A good motor for the E-Revo on 4s would be a 1515/1Y/F. A feigao would be an *ok* choice but honestly they run WAY too hot. Unless you live in Alaska and run on tracks and streets of snow.. you'll probably be unhappy with it. The Neu is the best choice.

Patrick of Castle Creations said their CastleNeu motors will be ready "very soon". I have no idea what that means - but if you didn't mind waiting a month or so you could probably save a few bucks and get a CastleNeu instead of a Neu. They will be offering a 1515/1Y equivalent.

edit: Oh.. and if you by chance need a Mamba Max.. I have one for sale (check my signature)

Or.. you could wait a few weeks and be one of the first guinea pics to try Losis 1/8th XCelorin ESC and Velineon brushless motors...

I would really like the Neu. But right now I need an alternative. Some kind of best bang for the buck. The MM and ex. Medusa, Feigao - around the 100 $. And when the MMM is cleared out I´ll get back to the Neu/castleNeu.

go medusa not fiegao, medusas are pretty efficient, about halfway in between a fiegao and neu
