Li-po $100.00 question
OK for now, i'am runing 2x Thunder Power 5000mAh, 3s, connected in serie, in my e-revo.
BUT, due to the MMM failure, i'll probably put the e-revo on the shelf and run my Slash to the place, with my TP batterie. SO here's my question: If i run my pack separatly in my Slash, and take care to run each pack the same amount of cycle (one run on pack "A" and one run on pack "B".....etc), and i charge/balance it togheter every time, is i'll can re-use this pack togheter in serie in my revo in the futur, when a solid controller will be available to put in my e-revo???? Or the fact to run the pack separatly during a "X" amount of time will not permit me to re-utilise them togheter later?? Thank you:wink: |
As long as both packs see the same type of usage, are drained to approx the same LVC, and are cycled the same number of times, it's ok. If it were me, when you get ready to use them together again, balance them as a single pack until perfect, then charge like that.
Or, balance them now so they are exactly the same, and then run them in parallel. Lots of runtime and you can be sure you'll never come close to the C rating unless you are shooting for 150mph in your Slash. |

I've a Hyperion 0610 DUO charger and always charge them in same time and always balance them during charging. Run it in parallel in my Slash, it's a good idea, but this will put the slash realy too much heavy weight:oh: Hey Brian, i've a pack with 36 mOhm of internal resistance and the other is 68mOhm, is i can run them in parallel??? The cell are exactly the same voltage on both pack if i check it with my Hyperion during charging process. |
If you keep the number of charges the same they should be fine.
I always set the lvc for 3.2v per cell when I run a pair of packs in series. One pack may be "stronger" than the other, and the higher lvc setting helps the weaker pack... I do the same if I run a pair of packs in parallel too, for the same reason... |
Hey linc, is the slash have the room to put two pack in it??
I've not recieve mine yet |
if you are balancing them together as 1 battery, and they both have the same number of charges, but one hasn't been drained as long as the other, it will still work, but it will take a while for the balancer to get the batteries together, but if your balancer can't communicate with the charger (is not built in or does not have a data port) then it may not be able to get them together.

As i said before i've a hyperion 0610 DUO charger with integrated balancer. Please tell me what's for you "balance them as a single pack"?????
IF i run them separatly but i charge/balance them in same time on my charger (one on each chanel) is it the same thing than charging them as a single pack??????? |
run them seperate and balance/charge as a single 6cell pack, that's what i meant, the other stuff i said for anyone browsing & curious.
