MMM v3?

So elsewhere on this forum there has been some acknowledgement by Castle of possible case issues and I believe that there has been some BEC issues. So when are the MMM v3's due to come out?

I'm sure I'm about to doom myself by saying this but I've got a working MMM v2 right now and I want another but I'm waiting for the case and other improvements of the MMM v3...just don't know when to buy it...

Anyone have any news on this?

Thanks,

From their e-mail they sent a while ago it sounds as if they have stopped production until they fix a few more things but I am not entirely sure. Hopefully someone from castle might answer.

Right, that's what I've read as well. Just hopeful that there is light at the end of the tunnel and a MMM v3 is due out "soon".

Where did you guys read this. I bought 2 version 2's so when one is in the shop, I can use the other.

Just buy another MMM. It's in stock and on sale here at RC-Monster.

I talked to CC yesterday; they have three rigs from people with many blown MMMs, they have been able to duplicate the failures and expected to have solution in a few days. Bottom line, they said it would be about 2 weeks for new ones to be ready.

Thats great to hear bdebde. I was about to order a MMM in the next couple days for my 8ight-T, but I think I may hold out until the V3's are out.... or maybe I should just buy a V2, and send it in later to exchange for the V3. Hmmm...

You can't really go wrong. It may cost you a little bit in shipping but you get to run more.

I wonder what they're going to do with the rest of the MMM's out there.

If what they say is correct and that the failure rate is small then it really won't be an issue. Problem is the ones that do fail damage castles reputation and the reputation of the MMM more and more.

The reputation of the MMM locally is pretty bad at the moment cause of my failures but after the race on the weekend and the displays of raw power that rep will be restored.

I have a new tool in my box...fire extinguisher.

Did they say what was causing the problems?

Nothing specific, just that they were close to solving the issue.

Even if they have figured out the BEC issue, I bet it will take much longer than a couple of weeks. I'm not saying this to bash them but if they are making changes to the case, this means new tooling to mold the cases. That alone will probably take a few weeks plus what ever they have to do for the BEC.

I think they get the cases moulded out-of-house by a moulding company, so once the mould's been adjusted, hopefully it won't take long to get the new cases in.
