Question about Lehner (for E-Revo)
I was thinking about trying a Lehner motor in my E-Revo. A 1940 or 1950, but I´m not sure wich one to get. Can anyone recomend a god one ?
I´m driving 4s / 6s lipo´s and the esc will be the MMM when it´s isues are sorted out (ore maybe MGM - would like advices about wich one to get here to) Hoping for your help Regards |
If you really want to use the same motor on 4S and 6S, I'd suggest an 1950/8... but gear down when you step up the voltage.

I'd think a 1950 would be too insane. A video of a 1930 in a converted revo:

Huh
A Lehner 1950 in a Revo is perfectly fine. People put Neu 1515s in Revos, apparently with good results. Even just 3 or 4 years ago a 1950 in a MT was The Shit, and they are still great motors. Those who have or had one know what I'm talking about. Sure, a 1950/8 on 6S is a lot of motor. Don't expect the stock traxxas drivetrain to hold up for long. |
The nerve of some people, eh? After all, you wer one of the first (if not THE first) pioneer to convert a Revo to electric.
[nostalgic moment] A few years ago, I remember seeing Daf's Revo conversion and wanting to do the same. I still recall when I posted questions at the TRX forum and he said to come on over here. The rest is history. [/nostalgic moment] |
Would an 1940/8 be alternative for a milder setup?

A 1940 seems to be similar in size to a 1512 or a c50 L can. I have used an aveox 36/30 motor (similar to a 1512) in a revo with success. I was using the 2 speed and mech brakes though, so less load. I currently run my slayer conversion with a c50 l can and it does fine. Using motor brakes and the tranny locked in second. The slayer is lighter than a revo and has smaller/lighter tires. I am sure a 1940 would be fine if it was geared correctly in a lighter MT.
My plett maxx w/fan seems to do fine in the emaxx, and it is a similar size to a 1940/1512 motor. |
A 1950 motor is fine in a revo. I ran one in mine for a long time. That said... A 1940 will be pleny of motor also. I ran a 1940/7 on 5s in my heavy 12+lb Savage geared for 45 mph and it absolutly rocked. I love the lehner motors. If they had any kind of customer service at all I would prefer them to the Neu. They feel more pepy than the Neus but still run very cool. I think they are still every bit as good a the Neu motors.

I love my Lehners, if they were easier to get, I would likely run all lehners!:great: |
FD RC sells them still... But will Chris really RIP YOU OFF?

I have had issues with chris standing behind any type of warrenty. With that said lehners are great motors. I hae had a few over the years. Bought two from mike and two from chris. My second motor in a lst2 conversion was a 6turn high amp 1950 and all I can say is WOW what a motor. My hyperion 5s 5000mah 20c battery wasnt up to the task for handling that kind of power though. (the 5000mah 20c was the top of the line a few years back when I bought it)
I know the revo is lighter than a lst but I wouldnt go anything less than a xl size 2 pole motor in a mt. It greatly helps with heat. Also I wouldnt ecommend the 6 turn highamp unless you just want speed runs!!! :) |
