Pics of my 8ight Tekno VC3 Neu

3 Attachment(s)
The most recent variation of my 8B after modifying my third MMM and switching from 1512 1.5D to a 1515 1.5D....just for the hell of it.

Includes:
Lunsford complete titanium screw kit
Lunsford titanium hingepins and turnbuckles
Fioroni lightened shocktowers, top plate
Fioroni Tractive IV differentials front, center, rear
JR 9100s servos
aluminum parts here and there

I have been very pleased with the Tekno RC BL conversion. i have seen other companies conversions at the track and they dont look as nice IMO. The chassis, mechanical brake, and Neu motors are a beautiful feature of the Tekno setups. I use the long shank pinion over the elektri-clutch as it sounds much cleaner. (that clutch is noisy!)

The next project is going to be the 8 Truggy with the Tekno conversion and a CRT .5 with the RC Monster setup...if i ever see it in stock again. Cant wait!!:intello:

So how does it go with the 15 over the 12?

i honestly cant really tell a difference. the 1512 had i a little more speed at the top. the 1512 1.5D is 3200 KV and the 1515 1.5D is 2700 KV. they boh are phenomenol motors.

Very nice buggy!

Awesome looking buggy! Have you noticed a big difference with the Fioroni Tractive IV differentials over the stock ones?

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.06.2008 07:00 AM

What about temps and run time between the 2 motors?

i have read that the Tractive IV diffs make it grip a lot better in the corners and make it easier to drive but i never actually drove the buggy with the stock stuff. i just threw the tractive IV in there right from the beginning. i would like to have someone drive it that has a lot of experience with the 1/8 buggies and see what they think. i am hoping to do that next time i am at the track and get a professional opinion. i will post the results when i do.

Nice...you are one of the only ones that I have seen running a fan w/a Neu motor. My 1512 1.5.yf doesn't break a sweat on 4+5s.

Ya Neu's don't need cooling like that unless your gearing is off the charts.. I run a Medusa v2 60mm 2000kv on 4s lipo in my v3 e-8ight buggy geared 16/48 and it's flies and I can drive all day and this motor isn't 1/2 as good as the Neu 1512's.

I have the same conversions but I love the electri-clutch as it tames the intense torque for perfect racing.. if I wasn't using it as a race only buggy I guess I would most likely use the long shank pinions as well. I will agree it is a little loud but it is still silent compared to the rest of the nitro's on the track.. couldn't hear it if you wanted to.

yeah, when i had the 1512 in it never got very hot at all. i added the fan when i put the 1515 in just for kicks. i run just a regular gearing 13/48 i think it is. maybe its 13/47. the other night after 20 minutes the motor wasnt even warm. but i am thinking of trying a 5s in this setup as the motor can handle it.
hey, how do the nitros stack up against your BL? what kind of setup do you run? obviously its a tekno but what motor, battery, etc?

nice buggy. what kind of difference do you see from the 4s vs the 5s? i am wanting to run a 5s on this setup to see how it does. the motor can totally handle it. and you have a MMM and a MGM esc? i had another thread asking for advice about the MGM controllers. how do you like it compared to the MMM? which MGM do you have?
