a quick mmm question

so i got my new mmm but all the bullets are touching the heat sink, i called castle and they said its ok

so here is my question, wouldnt that short out the phases? cause cogging and damage to the fets?

They put a non conductive laquer on the bullets and I'm not sure if the HS annodising is conductive but yes there is concern that this can cause a shorting of the phases and hence cogging / failure of the esc.

It may work day1 but the laquer may wear off and create a short...

There was rumour that in V3 the battery side bullets were being removed to create a bit more room for the HS

The coating will wear off, I put heat shrink on them & that is starting to wear thru.

Patrick verified that in one of his posts recently. I was fine with the V1 having all leads direct soldered to the board and wished they had stuck with this. I just like to have a minimum number of connections to loosen.

I like the bullets at least on the motor side. Neu motors aren't ideal in the fact that they don't have solder tabs or regular wires. If they did, a single piece of wire for each phase and a connector at the esc cleans things up the most.

the castle mostets have long wires with bullets attached which is why the mmm has the females. With a mmm combo the only connections will be the ones on the mmm.
